Darn horns! I file them down daily but they keep growing back! Most of the comments there are just insulting. They do not care what we really believe or why nor do they want to see any of the truth that is plain in front of them. As for my comments there, I basicly asked when was the last time the LDS Church put out pamplets saying Baptists are going to hell, they have horns, are not Christians, and follow the Devil? When was the last time the LDS Church made a movie about Evangicals where told of all the supposed evils they do and how they plan to lead people astray? In a nut shell I said that the LDS Church and its members are taught to respect all other religions and we do not make judgements against other Christians saying that because they do not believe exactly as we do, then they can not be followers of Christ.

Same with Virginia. Also the whole day off for start of hunting season too. To add to your list, "You call Soda "POP" instead of Soda" Its soda!!!

Mamacat I think you are just trying to see something that is not there and fail to see what is there because of your personal feelings on the matter.

The scriptures are full of times where the Saints went to war or killed. Sometimes innocents. Mamacat I respect your views but feel very strongly that your perspective is skewed and that the death penatly is not only ok, but also a must for any society that wants to protect and secure the people within.

Not killing these people is a greater evil. These people then either corupt or kill others while in prison or in some cases get paroled or escape and kill again. It is our duty to permantly remove these people form society and let them serve as an example to others. Not to worry though, if one of the creeps comes into my home, I will save them the jury trial and the tax payers money and take care of it myself.

The obsession of Polygamy on these forums makes me sick. It is an out dated practice that the Church is against. Anybody who participates will be excommunicated. The Church is global and not limited to the USA. If any member lives in a place that would allow Polygamy, they would STILL be excommunicated!

I find it interesting on the whole "who is Christian" thing that LDS people call all followers of Christ "Christian" but that a lot of people who are outside of the LDS Church only call those who are in their denomination or one close to it Christian. I have even heard some say Catholics are not Christian as well. The bottom line is that all followers of Christ are Christian. They might not all be right or believe in the exact same things and ways to worship but they are all followers of Christ!

It is very very hard to convict somebody and get the death penalty. Opponets of the Death Penalty have tried very hard to find ways to make people question it from the methods used to kill or to the guilt of the accused. To this date nobody who has even been executed has been proven innocent. Recently there was a man who was executed and his "fans" swore he was innocent and said DNA evidence would prove it. It was a HUGE case because the anti DP crowd was almost for sure that they had finally found somebody who had been innocent who was executed. However once the DNA evidence came back, he was only proved absoultly guilty by it. As I said, in court you have to prove to an unreasonable doubt with all in the jury in agreement. The evidence must be so strong and compelling that the DP must be used.

Not far from where I live and on my way through Knoxville I have passed that area many times. People here are talking a lot about it and everyone says those responsible should fry (Full disclosure, I live in a very conservative area).

And thus they will never rest, because the Church is true. I am with you about townhall. It has been very frustrating to me. There are only a couple article writers there that are real jerks about it but then again there are a couple there who have writen wonderful articles about the Church and the general character and values of the members.

There is a mix. A lot of people are ignorant on the teachings of our Church and believe in the lies promoted against it but I believe you will find that anywhere you go. I do not think your family would feel alienated. As I said, there are tons of us here and we do just fine. While it might not be as large as Utah or Idaho, there are plenty of good Saints in this area. Also being in the Bible belt is not a bad thing at all. I have found that most around here share the same values as we do. We might all go to different Churchs but we all share the same love for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I have found more in common with the people in my community than I have found diffeerences. I really think those people who are replying to you in CA have very skewed ideas of what it is like here. I have been to Utah, Arizona, and Nevada to attend Church services and they are the same as they are here. Do not believe all the sterotypes you hear, only some are true. The best advice I can give you is to come here and see for yourself. The larger the city, the more LDS there will be. I think NC is a wonderful state for the most part. Collumbia SC temple would not be too far away.

There are tons of members and wards here on the east coast. You might only find one Church building per city but most have 2-3 wards and are packed. I must admit I am a little thrown back by the question and the thought that the church is empty around here or different. No matter where you live, the lessons are the same, the structure is the same, and the spirit is the same.

Like I said we can agree to disagree. I think all the current liberals have very much in common with Stalin, Hitler, and Mao. Does that mean they are exact copies? Do they have differences? Sure they do and no one person is the same. But for a system as a whole and their goals, they are very similar. They all push for socialized programs and centrally planned economics. Hitlary and her Health care plans forcing a person in med school to become the type of Dr. of the governments choosing. How about the push for less mass farming? In the 1970's we were being told that the population would be starving by the 1990's but that was not the case at all. So now what do they do? They try and take away the ability to farm at those rates so we would starve much like Mao did in China when he forced the farmers to do other things and abandoned the effective way to do things and they starved to death. With Hitlary in particular I see a lot of parals. Looking at her history she has been involved in shady deals and some of those people ended up dead before they could testify against her and put her away. She not only will set out to destroy a person politically and personallyif you get in her way but you might have an "accident" and wind up dead as well. Hitlar and Stalin both were natorious for killing off anybody who got in their way on the road to claiming power. If Obama has a little "accident" then I guess nobody should be surprised.

I loved the theory about the Pentegon being hit by a missile or by a bomb. I had an aquantiance here who is just 110% convinced it is the truth. Well as for me I know it is false because I come form an area up in middle of Virginia and just happen to personally know somebody who was there that day and was in the parking lot when the plane hit (He works for the Airforce). If the planes had not be caught on video hitting the towers in NY, then there would be people would be saying the same thing. If you think Bush knew and did not stop it then that is just as crazy. They said the same thing about FDR and Pearl Harbor. All of those theories have been disproven. Can we even call them theories? Don't theories have to have at least some facts to make the plausible?

Do you really believe that FrankJL? You almost render me speechless. Google 'Afghanistan Gas Pipline' and check out some of the hits. Or 'Iraqi Oil'. If you want to be good citizens and good Americans, make sure you know the truth. Defending evil does not make a good citizen. America was not founded on lies and deception. As Latter Day Saints we are forbidden from supporting the secret combination which is today pushing forward with its satanic scheme to overthrow the freedom of all people. Our loyalty first and foremost is to the Lord Jesus Christ, not George Bush or ###### Cheney. Luke those secret combinations are on the left with the likes of Harry Reid, Pelosi, and Hitlary Clinton who are out to destroy freedom any place it is and return to a world ruled by neo Hitlers and Stalins. They will lie, decieve, and do anything at all possible to destroy what is good in this world.

@ FrankJL - There are lies, darn lies, and stats. Anybody can make any stats say what they want. I have seen stats that say those things are major issues. So I will reverse it and say yours opinion is just a matter of opinion and agree to disagree. About Obama, he is a better speaker. HItlary is HATED by a lot of people but even though Obama is more left than Stalin, he can speak really well and because he is so new, most people have no clue what he stands for and what he means by a lot of things he says. Like most socialist ideas, they sound great in the idea but are devistating in practice. For the Libs I know IRL, they want Gore to run. Obama is second and Hitlary is a distant 3rd.

I did not particularly like it. For one the entire movie is trying to say that conservatives want to make a Nazi like state and that is what the original comic was written about. This movie was timed to hint at Bush so movie goers would draw comparisons. All that aside, I was just not very impressed with it. But few movies coming out today do I actually like.

Luke that is a twisted point of view. We were not attacked by individuals but rather by a group of people who share a hatred for our way of life. These people get aid and support from all over the middle east and we did the right thing to take the fight to them. 911 was not the first time that these cowards drew blood and have sworn to destroy us, out way of life, and our allies. This is not a new war but rather a very old war that goes back over 1000 years. Our Republics first war outside of the USA was against these thugs which caused us to form a permant navy and Marines. We kicked their butts then and we continue to do so today. Their factions are made up from nations all over the middle east who hate us and out values. To say they are residing within the US would be like saying our troops reside in Iraq. We should not be the world police and that is why we are not in Darfur but we still are policing many parts of the world which we should not be. However in situations like the middle east, China, and Korea, we must be in those areas because a war there would end up here and affect us all. It is naive to think otherwise.

Guns, Gays, and Abortion are huge all over the country. In the last election gay marraige was shot down almost at every turn by huge margins. Abortion is murder and is a huge issue everywhere. Guns is a national issue as well. If you go back to the 2000 election, Gore lost a ton of points when he started to go anti gun hard core and some speculate that it is the issue that cost him the election. I disagree with your "facts" that those are not election cycle issues, especially guns and abortion.

Rudy abortion, guns, and gays are 3 strikes for him and he has no chance IMO. Is really just a moderate liberal and should be on the Dem ticket, not the GOP. McCain is HATED by most conservatives and with his Amnesty bill today along with his attacks against the 1st amendment, he can forget about it. Wow Roman you seem to got some issues. However at one point many people did not believe the world was round but that did not change the fact that it is. There are many people who do not believe the Priesthood has been restored as Christ established it in the NT but that does not change the fact that it is. Agency does not change what is right and wrong, it simply allows you to choose between the two. No amount of debate can change what is true reguardless of if you believe it or not.
