I think this is an important point. 1. It's the entrenched system that is corrupt, not the party. GOP fought against Trump, too. Trump beat them at the ground game and social media. Social media wasn't going to allow the to happen again, though. 2. People are tribal. At any given time, only half the country will complain about the process. The winning team typically shuts up and takes their win. 3. The media is corrupt. They have interfered in this election through what they do, or don't, report. 4. If the people knew what went on behind the scenes they'd likely lose their minds.

Actually, that isn't what he said at all. He said there was fraud. He didn't say it was only in certain states, at least not that I saw. How much fraud is acceptable to you before it's considered "widespread" and worth investigating?
-
Posts like this make me sad. I don't understand purposely not following expectations because a person feels they know better how the Church should be administrated than those chosen by God to do the administrating.
-
The media isn't just ignoring it, they're actively arguing against it. If you even post the word "vote" or anything related to the election on social media it automatically gets tagged with a message assuring us that the elections are secure and Biden won. If that doesn't bother everyone, then I'm wasting my time.

The map is tagged. It appears to be based on the fact that several close states (grey) have current filings claiming fraud and erroneous ballots that, if found favorably, could determine the outcome of the election.

Personally, I think the mods do a very good job here.

Sure. PM me how you would like to receive it. It was a really crappy talk, though.
-
Also, I have a talk a few weeks ago in Sacrament explaining why I do what I do.
-
I think this is the meat of the issue. I would hope people would call out my tone, either publicly or privately, if inappropriate. That would either provide me with the opportunity to clarify or repent.
-
Well said and thank you for the story. It's an impressive reminder. That wasn't my intent at all. I was more stating that I don't understand why Saints don't always do what is expected when it is easy. For example, I completely understand why not being a full tithe payer is difficult. I hold no judgment for anyone that doesn't make it, or doesn't do it at all. However, I don't understand why someone who wants to be a faithful Saint doesn't attend settlement or if you don't want to be a faithful Saint why are you in attendance? That is the real reason for my post, I suppose. I wasn't expecting this difficulty and I'm not sure what the reason for it is.
-
I absolutely agree. However, as long as my beliefs are aligned with current teachings I'm personally comfortable being part of your perceived problem.
-
What's the deal with tithing settlement? What is its purpose? What happens if you don't go? Everything I've read discusses how it is an "opportunity" for various things such as repentance, declaration of commitment, and auditing your tithes. In my (albeit short) time here I've always felt it is expected. I'm currently trying to schedule tithing settlements, but I am a little surprised by how many people just don't do it.

That's the problem. All of those answers are true and the 14 fundamentals pretty much lays out the order. If your "personal interpretation" trumps a prophet, then there is a problem. I'll stand firm in what little I do know. When challenged by people who aren't members of Christ's Church or who have stopped following Christ's chosen leaders, as we've seen happen in recent months, I don't know what else to do.

I just gave a talk about that talk.

I wasn't referring to Latter-day Saint forums. Most of the forums I'm on that are very active are gun related.
-
I think that is the part that I just didn't get. The "movement" is to be doing what we're all supposed to be doing anyway? I just don't understand what the point is, I suppose.
-
I saw this on Facebook. As a convert, it didn't seem super controversial to me or what the reasoning was behind it. Thoughts?

I read this forum often. I've only noticed two people delete their account: one got very serious over politics and the other was separated from the Church. I'm on a few forums that are doing very well. They are pretty focused on what their foundation was. For many, other social media platforms are taking over. Facebook and MeWe both have group options that are probably more popular. If Third Hour had a group on either, I would probably participate more.

Here's a book everyone should read: https://www.properroleofgovernment.com

I've never understood the "can I get my account deleted" requests. Just don't log in, delete the bookmark, and forget about the place. I've done that will countless forums that I choose not to participate in.

This is simplistic and doesn't paint the entire picture. Trump claims those running the system are corrupt and changed the outcome. Some of his claims are absolutely true, but that doesn't mean those actions were fraudulent. Some of his claims are that fraud absolutely took place, and we'll see how his claims pan out.
-
It's much worse than that, now. They are actually openly trying to shape public opinion (not even touching on the whole existence of CFR). Yesterday, on public record, a sitting US Senator questioned public platform owners about why conservative voices weren't banned from their platforms. They don't even try to hide it anymore.

America has a short memory and the anti-establishment ballot caught them unaware in 2016. It won't happen again. It won't be Trump in 2024 and as others have said, it likely won't be Biden, either.

I'm just trying to make it through today, my friend. Just trying to make it through today.

Well, the Stake President was there and nobody pulled my Temple Recommend, so I think I'm in the clear.
