I think it's time for disbelieving Saints to get in line and follow the prophets. And the prophets have said that they disclaim previous theories as any sort of Church doctrine, and to quit speculating about reasons why the Priesthood ban was enacted. Those who preach that the policy was put in place due to racism (either Brigham Young's or the Church memberships') are just as much in violation of these prophetic injunctions as those who preach that premortal actions resulted in the Priesthood ban, and are equally accountable to God for their disobedience and false teachings.

I like how Sacrament Meeting is currently set up.

Based on the ministering interviews in my Ward, I don't get the sense that there has been a noticeable decline in visits (at home or otherwise).
However, I have observed a marked increase in comradary within the new quorum and the Ward in general, as well as an outbreak of spontaneous kindness and generosity, not to mention several inactives who have recently returned to church.
I find this very encouraging given that the program is relatively new and most of us are still trying to figure it out and get a more firm sense for how it is, or we are, supposed to operate. Perhaps that is part of the beauty of the less structured and nuanced program--i.e. our shared struggle towards discerning the  solid and concrete makes us more mindful. Who knows?

I think its everywere i have been in this ward 4 years we have had 1 missionary go and she just came back.  There is one young man who is thinking about going.  Its like a lack of desire to serve

@wade  you sound just llike my assistants.  It will intresting to see how this goes.  Its exciting

I would hand out paper and pens. Draw a picture on the board of those closest to you. You are the bull’seye, your spouse or parents are closest to you and are in the next circle, arrange people in your life in an ever widening collection of circles. Describe how you can help people in the circles eg listen to spouse, don’t roll your eyes at parents, don’t pull your sisters hair. Try to list 10 things that can be done in the next week. Try to emphasize the people closest to the bull’s eye of yourself. Think about what those closest to you really need eg stop yelling at spouse. Ask members of class to take 10 minutes and do the same for their own collection of circles. 
Ask who would like to share
Ask people to commit to perform 2 acts of kindness before next week.

In eq there was only 1 other my age.  All the others were  young newlyweds and have young kids.  I loved eq.  It was fun to be able tell them wait til your kids are teenagers.  You will learn a lot and find out your parents kinda knes what they were talking about.  In my hpg we have older gentlemen who are elders and feel more comfortable attending with us.I am happy to see then and attending to me it dont matter as long as they feel the spirit. Hope this made sense

Our 4th sunday lessons have been wonderful and inspiring.  Our instructor is a teacher by profession and knows who to get us all engaged and discussing.i try to get my instructors a month notice of lessons so they can prepare
