BIC and raised by very orthodox and very strict parents who are both Pioneer/Polygamist stock. We lived the "charmed" life of active, faithful successful Mormons. Although my parents were very loving, the constant immersion in all things church eventually burned me out and I left home for a few years after high school to just do my thing. Later I returned feeling I was missing something, got my life together, married in the temple, kids, job, kids on mission and now empty nest. A few years ago started learning random things that at fist blush contradicted what I have always known in the church. I started looking into these things and slowly but surely I started to learn things which bothered me. I am at the point where I have no idea what to believe anymore and I take everything I hear with a grain of salt. Now the internet is alive with information I can more easily research. Basically I am investigating the church for the first time and I have questions. There are other sites I can go to and I realize some here may feel like I am maybe even anti. I am just trying to get to the bottom of things. If I find enough to make the whole program basically true- then I am all in. If I come to the conclusion there has been a lot of smoke and mirrors, lies, deception etc, well then I'll likely be out. In the meantime I have questions and I hope to get answers here.
