Unexpected Talents

I just want to know what are some of the talents you've found you could develop and didn't really expect it.

For me I like arts & craft type work because I'm fairly good at using my hands to do stuff, and two weeks ago, I found I can do jewelry. I found this after I collected a bunch of seashells while in Florida for work and I wanted to do something with them when I got back and I hit upon the idea of making some of it into jewelry, and I made the jewelry, and it didn't turn out bad, not something you'd pay money for off the shelf at a store. But each piece I did was better then the one before.

So now I can make jewelry and I like doing it. Before three weeks ago, I wouldn't have considered it, and now I can do something I couldn't before. Just picked it up and ran with it.

I'm curious if anyone has found they had a talent and it was a surprise or unexpected.

In our old age I found there are unexpected love affair with new talents. Working with electrical lines during a remod that I would not even consider before.

I like doing counting cross-stitch which is something I never would of expected I could do

I just learned that I can actually do improv and be funny at it to boot. So now me and three other guys are starting our own improv group. Hopefully we also are going to open a new comedy club here in town so we will have a venue to perform at.

i can tie a cherry stem with my tongue. it's quite the talent when you're waiting at a restaurant for food.

other than that...just crafts n stuff. my mom and i do a "monthly craft night" and i've learned that SHE'S better at crafts than i thought she was.

When I was fourteen years young, I received my patriarchal blessing. I didn't believe a lot of the things it said about me. Some of the gifts I have been given are pointed out in my blessing. It has been 19 years since I received that blessing. It is interesting what you discover about yourself as you continue thru life.

My mom thought I'd never sew - too un-domestic! But I do now, and win ribbons for it.

I have also discovered a talent for teaching. I learned pretty much everything I needed to know by teaching Primary. Now I teach schoolchildren and love it!

When I got married, I suddenly learned that I could cook really well. And I'm finally to the point where I can cook by taste (not everything, but a lot of things) and be inventive.
