ztodd Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 True story ya think? I feel so bad for these people that have the whole word laughing at them. Quote
Gwen Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 don't you have to lose a lot of blood to bleed to death? i'd have to have the medical rational explained on that one. some blood in the nose isn't enough for me to believe it. i've seen some pretty bad nose bleeds from injury and none came close to being enough blood to bleed to death. there would have to be some other underlying disorder. like an inability for his blood to clot to begin with. in which case that would have been the cause of death, the nose would have just been the injury. Wingnut Posted December 11, 2008 Author Report Posted December 11, 2008 Good question Gwen. It sounds like a good story for MSNBC's "The Body Odd" to pick up. They do wacky medical news stories. I'll hunt around and see if I can submit it to them. Quote

Heavenguard Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 I think it's possible that this man may have choked to death.Contatry to conventional wisdom, one should NEVER tilt their head back in the case of a nose bleed because the blood can run back down into the throat and cause you to choke. Here's another interesting news story:Actor slits his own throat as knife switch turns fiction into reality | Stage | The Guardian Quote
WillowTheWhisp Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 My daughter used to have heavy nose bleeds as a child but she never bled to death. It does seem a bit far fetched. Quote
