pam Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Yes you did and you were correct. But I like easy. Quote
Misshalfway Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 THis is the only riddle I know. (Yeah....I got it in the fourth grade!!! So what?!!???)What is red and green and goes round and round? Quote

pam Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Since the topic is brain "teases" I wanted to see if posting this works. Notice when you focus on one wheel it stops. Quote
Wingnut Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 "Brad walked through the front door and almost tripped over his wife. She was on her hands and knees with her face inches from the floor. 'Oh, Brad,' she pouted. 'The diamond fell out of my wedding ring and I lost it! I've been searching for hours! Our house is so big, it could be anywhere!' Brad calmly took her in his arms and told her it would be okay. "I bet I'll find your diamond in the very first place I look.' How did he manage this when he had no idea where the diamond was?"He just doesn't look for it. Quote
orrinjelo Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 He just doesn't look for it.True...maybe he took it to get it resized or something and swapped the ring for a different one. Quote
Webster Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 (edited) Diamond riddle: This is not a complete thought, but ... Could the wife be blind searching for her ring in a dark house (she did not turn on the lights)? Hubby comes home (it's dark so he almost trips over her). He'll turn on the lights when he tries to look for the diamond, which will give him an advantage. But why does he think he'll find it in the first place he looks? Here's where I get iffy. Did he step on it as he entered the house, or as he put his foot down after nearly tripping over his wife? (Sorry, I'm wrong. It was not a complete thought when I started typing, but then as I typed the first part, I came up with the idea that Hubby stepped on it in the darkened room which completed my possible solution.) Edited February 8, 2009 by Webster Added the last parenthetical paragraph Quote
sakuragirl Posted February 9, 2009 Author Report Posted February 9, 2009 Clue....not only did Brad find the diamond he lovingly did one of the chores for her. Quote
Wingnut Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Well, if he sweeps the whole house, he might find it. Alternately, it could have come off while she was doing dishes. Quote
Webster Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Come on! A man sweeping the house? Get real. (Okay, so it would have been funnier comin' from a woman) Quote
orrinjelo Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 ...Thanks you guys for teaching me how to be a good husband! Note to self: Don't do any house chores. It isn't normal. Quote
sakuragirl Posted February 9, 2009 Author Report Posted February 9, 2009 Well, if he sweeps the whole house, he might find it. Alternately, it could have come off while she was doing dishes.Close enough, he vacuums the house and finds it in the vacuum bag."George lay awake in bed for an hour while counting, but he couldn't fall asleep. Why?" Quote
Wingnut Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Close enough, he vacuums the house and finds it in the vacuum bag.Vacuuming occurred to me, but I've actually looked for things via the dig-through-the-vacuum-bag method, and I know there's no way he'd find a diamond using that method. So I went with the sweeping instead. "George lay awake in bed for an hour while counting, but he couldn't fall asleep. Why?"Uh, because he wasn't tired? Quote
Webster Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 If George is my son, he is counting the minutes until he can get out of taking a nap on Sunday. Unfortunately, Mom said if he didn't fall asleep after an hour he could get out of his nap, and he's a headstrong, stubborn little guy (like his dad). Quote
Guest ceeboo Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 "George lay awake in bed for an hour while counting, but he couldn't fall asleep. Why?"Because Mrs George stapled his eyelash to his forhead. Quote
Webster Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) He couldn't sleep because of a leaky faucet. He was counting the number of times his leaking faucet dripped. (He's obsessive compulsive) Edited February 9, 2009 by Webster Changed typo "could" to "couldn't". Quote
Art_in_Heaven Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 He was counting his blessings?????? Oh pass me a bucket! Quote
