keithtwalker Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 I have just been given the assignment as a high council member to be over the Primary in our stake. I am in a college ward. Can someone please help me with some ideas on where I would find out what my responsibilities would be? I can't find anything in any handbooks but I may just be missing it. Where do I get the training and where do I find the responsibility list? Thanks Quote
Justice Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 The manuals have grown smaller and smaller over the years. One thing you can always concentrate on and never be wrong is have the local leaders reactivate the kids that aren't coming. But, if you've been in a bishopric, the responsibilities are pretty consistent throughout the church. Quote
Hemidakota Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 Ask the Stake President for the 2008 version of the Church Handbook of Instructions or talk to your High-Councilman leader or most senior member concerning your new calling. He can advise you on what to do, where to find answers, but the book will provide some answer on role and responsibilities. There are other guides that may help you from the church website. You also need to learn each area of responsibility of those serving in Primary. Moksha Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 As a High Council Member, you can always deliver those stirring speeches you gentlemen are always giving at the various wards. Perhaps you could even give one to the Primary children to get their reaction. Quote
