bytor2112 Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 WASHINGTON -- Former first lady Laura Bush on Monday expressed support for President Barack Obama's decision to speak to the nation's school children, saying it is "really important for everyone to respect the president of the United States."Years of living with GW have finally driven Laura stark raving mad. ADoyle90815 Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 She understands that the Office is something to be respected, even if you disagree with the person. I guess those years of being married into the Bush family has taught her that being President is not an easy job at all. Quote
prisonchaplain Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Is it really disrespectful of the Office to suggest that this decision could be perceived as tacky? "Mr. President, thank you for your concern for the school children. But, this could be misunderstood..." BTW, I pray for President Obama every day, that God will use him to protect our land, and even the church. Quote

FlyingPurpleMonkey Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 If he wants to talk to the kids... fine. Making a lesson plan for the teachers to teach afterwards asking the students how they can "help the President"... no so much. And THAT was the issue. Was the speech he ended up giving the speech orginally planned? Like how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Toostie Pop... "The world may never know." Quote
