hordak Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 As per Slate. Interesting to see what other individuals were on that list.Doesn't seem to be much reason to the rankings. I mean Jack Kevorkian (with the power to help terminally ill people kill themselves) trumps a formula president of the USA. Quote
pam Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Wow I had no idea Daniel Inouye was as old as he is. Quote

Moksha Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 What a neat article. I had no idea that some of the people on the list were still alive. Yea for seniors!!! Quote

Is it an old race car driver, or what? Quote
talisyn Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 B.B. King and Pres. Monson on the same list: serendipity. Quote
Dravin Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 (edited) Is it wrong that the title of the thread made me immediately think of the songs from the musical Les Miserable detailing when Valjean lifted the wagon off one man (titled: The Runaway Cart) and the confrontation between Valjean and Javert (titled creatively enough: Confrontation)? The lines would be, "A man your age, to be as strong as you are..." and "There is power in me yet, my race is not yet run!", from The Runway Cart and Confrontation respectively. richman9 Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 I'm sure President Thomas S. Monson would wince at being called the #1 most "powerful" octogenarian in America, but it's a nice tribute to a man who millions look to as their spiritual guide! :) Quote

It is Kirk Kerkokian, who, according to Wiki, is the richest man in Los Angeles. Elph Quote
Moksha Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Since I'm at work and can't see the article, what is a 'formula president'? Some older folks drink Ensure to meet their nutritional needs. Quote
