Mahone Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 (edited) Me too. And I don't know if this is a reason for anyone to change their opinion or not, but a LOT of Mormon Tabernacle Choir members use Facebook. HiJollyThere is no reason for most people not to use facebook. As a lot of people have stated, it has its uses. But, it's easy to forget that speaking to your friends on facebook (posting on their wall, posting to a group wall, commenting on their statuses etc.) is not the same as speaking to your friends face to face. Whatever you say on there can also be read by everyone else who has access to the place you posted it. Often, you have no idea who has access to some of the stuff you say on there. Very often, people who have access to things you posted on facebook will show it to people who don't depending on how notable it is.Basically, you are fine as long as you don't say anything on there that you wouldn't want any of your friends, family, current employers, future employers, fellow church members etc to see. People who are still in education often forget that any future employer may very well be reading the things they are posting on facebook now some months/years down the line - things that they may have forgotten they ever wrote. Moksha Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 Has anyone considered the dangers that lurk at your local grocery store? Who knows who you will run into and then one thing leading to another, soon there is heart break. Hmm, this may make for another interesting presentation. ADoyle90815 Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Facebook is only bad if you use it that way, and I think that it's best not to put things on Facebook that you wouldn't want your employer or future employer to read, as it could cost you a job. If a spouse really wants to cheat, they will even without Facebook or other internet site. As one poster mentioned, Facebook was originally a yearbook online for high school and college students, not a dating site. I have made my Facebook account where only friends can see my profile, including pictures. My Facebook friends are my family members and people I'm already friends with IRL. Quote
