LDSVALLEY Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 congrats from Canada. I made the choice to join at age 30, 14 years ago, best thing I ever did. Don't worry about the rocks you find on your path, take your time, focus on the gospel and endure and you will get around every one. Remember there are no perfect Mormons, simply many imperfect ones trying to get better. Measure yourself against your own progression. not others. Quote

ozzy Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 A hefty congratulations. That is totally awesome. I actually felt my own eyes spring a leak which is rare. Congrats again, and may your lifelong experience be a joyful one. Quote
OneEternalSonata Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Wonderful! I made the same decision 4 years and 9 months ago. I don't regret my decision. My life has become richer, fuller, and brighter with the Light of the Gospel who is Jesus Christ. The Church is His, and the Holy Ghost can tell you so, if it hasn't already.Welcome! Quote
candyprpl Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 So exciting!!! I was baptized Dec. 12, 2004. Truly the best decision I've ever made! I love the gospel! It's nice to know that when times are tough we are not alone -- we have the gift of the Holy Ghost to comfort us and many earthly angels to help us through everything. Quote
MormonMama Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Congratulations and welcome! I'm also a convert. I joined a little over 14 years ago when I was 23 and had two kids. Best thing I ever did. I'm so excited for you! Quote

Maya Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Welcome, so glad to hear about your decition! Remember if there ever is a "problem" you know the basics are true! Build from the basics! So officially: Welcome to LDS.net. You will find here an ecclectic mix of LDS and some non-members. While the site is dedicated to the Gospel, and to promoting the Church to a world that often does not understand us, we also make room for conversations about current events, and about social and cultural practices within the Church. If your main desire is to learn about the Church, consider starting with the "Learn About Mormonism" forums. For more advanced teachings, that will often include a variety of perspectives, some non-LDS, consider the Gospel section of forums. While you are welcome to all main sections, be aware this site makes room for a variety of opinions and personalities. Some posters can be passionate about their views, and occasionally more so about them than about the souls of visitors. If you find something particularly offensive, feel free to make a report by clicking the appropriate tab. Quote

Being a member now for 31-years, I still fear and tremble over my own salvation. So don't feel bad on being baptized and still being nervous. Quote

jeycat Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Congratulations! I am also a Convert. Joined the church at age 21yrs. lately I've been thinking a lot about how I felt when I first studied with the Sister Missionaries & practically begged to be Baptised. This is the BEST decision you have ever made. You will be blessed for it. I was Blessed in many ways after Baptism...the biggest one was meeting my husband less than 2yrs after I joined. Welcome & Merry Christmas! What a wonderful time of the yr to be Baptised :-) Quote
Guest mormonmusic Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Congratulations! I want to echo what LDS Valley said -- remember, the Church has lots of imperfect people, and part of remaining valiant is in persisting in activity, serving others etcetera, even though things aren't going well. Not that this will necessarily happen, but I've found it useful advice over my 25 years a member of the Church. I think your membership will lead you down some exciting and challenging paths, with many spiritual experiences at the end of it. Also, write down the feelings and everything you're experiencing right now. It will be a treasure to your spirit in years to come, and will leave something interesting behind for your children....
