MSchloemer Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Well My name is Melissa Im from Newjersey and I'm trying to get into the church again I have been in and out my whole life Im 22.I just got married in august and the first year of paying bills is soo hard so im stressed alot.Im going back to church for myself and to show heavenly father my love for him.I've started trying to read the scriptures everyday but to me there so confusing because I constanty have to switch back and forth through the books to understand.Im on of those people that want to understand and get everything Im reading.I really want a all in one scriptures I guess its the Quad but its hard to get.I was hoping I would get money for christmas to get it but my dads mother says Once you get married thats it you dont get anything. But I did get giftcards to walmart to buy stuff for the apartment and food and such Is it weird to want a quad so much like this.I feel closer to heavenly father when I read the scriptures and I have always known the church is true.Just trying to afford a quad when I have to put every cent towards the apartment is alot is it always this hard first starting out?.IF anyone has one for a low price I'll see what I can do and I did look at the church sites for them i just cant pay that much. Lots of Love to everyone I hope your Christmas was Amazing!! Quote
Maya Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Welcome! This is a nice site to get back to chuirch with. I hope you will enjoy the iste. I suppose you ahve the internett.. so there are the scriptures and the best is there is also referals in them.. easy to find and compare: ScripturesOn this forum you can also read a LOT about scriptures. Learn of LDS is a good place to visit for more knowledge and for more understanding. One way of learning is to start asking, writting answers... being a part of the netside. Defending my beliefs has been a real eyeopner for me and strengthened my faith really a lot. Enjoy ... see you around! So officially:Welcome to LDS.net. You will find here an ecclectic mix of LDS and some non-members. While the site is dedicated to the Gospel, and to promoting the Church to a world that often does not understand us, we also make room for conversations about current events, and about social and cultural practices within the Church. If your main desire is to learn about the Church, consider starting with the "Learn About Mormonism" forums. For more advanced teachings, that will often include a variety of perspectives, some non-LDS, consider the Gospel section of forums. While you are welcome to all main sections, be aware this site makes room for a variety of opinions and personalities. Some posters can be passionate about their views, and occasionally more so about them than about the souls of visitors. If you find something particularly offensive, feel free to make a report by clicking the appropriate tab. Quote
Nikkie85 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Ask your relief society president if she can ask around and see if anyone has a old used quad they would be willing to give away. I actually find it easier to have the books separate. I am glad you have decided to come back to church. Welcome to the site! Quote
skalenfehl Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 If you've exhausted all your options and can't acquire a quad, pm me. I'll send you one. Quote
pam Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 You beat me to it Skal. The offer is open here as well. Welcome to the site. Quote
SeattleTruthSeeker Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Hello and welcome to the boards. I rarely post here, but do come in from time to time to see what is going on and post. You can easily access the scriptures online as well by going to lds.org. Welcome back and yes, it is a struggle because I too am making my way back to the Church. It is definitely a wonderful and interesting journey. I thought I would never get back into the LDS Faith, but here I am. Quote
