BelovedAutumn Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 I play piano and guitar. I write. And I have a boyfriend. I know what love is. I am in love. I used to be mormon. Not anymore. I was baptized when i was eight without any choice. You may not like me because I am unafraid to say my opinion. But I will try my best to be nice to everyone. Oh, and Merry late Christmas to all. Some of them, I had to wait either a year later or two years after eight in gaining enough of a basic testimony to 'want' to be baptized in the name of Christ. It is really their own choice to be baptized or not. True, we have opinions and agency to choose but to enter into the realm of the Godhead; you need to be an active member and requires the minimal of authoritative baptism to enter. Maya Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Welcome. You sound just like me... except that I used to be somethign else. I was definately without choise babtized as a baby of some months old (with a spoonful of water poured ove my head and the priest making the mark of the torturetree of my saviour in the air over me) and later I finally found LDS (or it found me)...... and the age, I bet I am older... a bit. So officially: Welcome to LDS.net. You will find here an ecclectic mix of LDS and some non-members. While the site is dedicated to the Gospel, and to promoting the Church to a world that often does not understand us, we also make room for conversations about current events, and about social and cultural practices within the Church. If your main desire is to learn about the Church, consider starting with the "Learn About Mormonism" forums. For more advanced teachings, that will often include a variety of perspectives, some non-LDS, consider the Gospel section of forums. While you are welcome to all main sections, be aware this site makes room for a variety of opinions and personalities. Some posters can be passionate about their views, and occasionally more so about them than about the souls of visitors. If you find something particularly offensive, feel free to make a report by clicking the appropriate tab. Quote
