InquisitiveSoul Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 What happens if a couple is sealed in the Temple late in life and their children are unable to make it to the Temple before the parents pass? Can the children be sealed to the parents after the parents pass or is it too late? Quote
MarginOfError Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Believe it or not, I can't find this in the handbooks! However, from my experience working in the temple, I have seen members come in and be sealed to their deceased parents. In fact, I've seen one member come in, had a friend go through the endowment on behalf of his mother, he went through on behalf of his father, then they acted as proxy for the mother and father so they could be sealed, and then another brother stepped in to act for the father while he was sealed to his parents. Some neat stuff right there. I think the only caveat would be that in order to be sealed to deceased parents, you yourself must be endowed, but I'm happy to be corrected if someone has a better reference than I. Quote
MobyMule Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Yes it can be done. And yes the adult getting sealed must be endowed and have a temple recommend. This falls under pretty much the standard things for proxy sealings. Same procedure except the parents don't have to be sealed together first. Quote

YOU'RE WRONG! because in the handbook it says that MOE is always right and everyone else is wrong, even when everyone agrees with MOE! Quote

eternalpromise516 Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 Yes. FamilySearch also gives clear outlines of how to handle these types of specific procedures. Quote
tubaloth Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 Can the children be sealed to the parents after the parents pass or is it too late? Considering the whole point of the temple is to do work for the dead! People dieing isn't really a problem. We seal dead familys together. Quote
Nikkie85 Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 I was able to witness my hubby's grandmother be sealed to her parents...It was one of the most awesome things I have ever seen in the temple. Quote
