bcguy Posted May 14, 2010 Report Posted May 14, 2010 I have had them before. Wife was a witness to it. But for the small events in our life, ive had plenty. I had one, in which it saved my life and my moms, or the driver we almost hit and killed. But because of my vision, we all did not hit each other at the intersection with the blind spot. This time around, had a gut feeling experience my truck was going to be broken into based on where it was parked. Why did I not listen to my self? I have had my truck for five years and not one single incident of a break in but for some reason, I looked behind my truck, and spread a frown across my face as if something was going to happen, then ignore it. Sure enough, got a call over the night class intercom to come to main desk. Truck was broken into and tools stolen. Well what can we say, its just that bad feeling something was about to happen and did not stop to think twice do do something about it. At least it was some tools. Could have been worse. Havn't had any per say visions of major quakes since Dec 23 2004 so glad that's not on my mind. Some day I will leave this earth. Don't know when but there were plenty of opportunities that could have happened "been in seven close calls of getting killed" But its not my time. I'm now in my 40s. My has time gone by! BTW, hope you all are enjoying your summer Im still looking for work. Has not been good for me and my wife financially. Almost tempted to move away for a period just to support her. Quote
dazed-and-confused Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 yes, i have had them. i always felt closer, more in tune with HF's reality during those events. it's like a reinforcing of the reality of a lot "more to life than we think". i also believe that with proper training, it is something we can experience much more often. Guest mormonmusic Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 (edited) · Hidden Hidden I asked Heavenly Father to let me see the future once. The words came back to my mind instantly "I can't show you that". And that's where it ended. Also, even if I HAD a seer experience, I wouldn't post in in an online forum because I'm pretty sure Heavenly Father would never trust me again. Although, I think the term "seer experience" could be more closely defined here. I'm not sure if everyone is talking about the same thing. To me, a seer experience is one where you literraly see events of the future. You've described promptings here -- would they be considered seer experiences? If so, I see them on a lesser scale than a vision of the future. More of a prompting, which can be shared. if you mean a prompting, I had one when I was renting a condo. There was a parking lot area tucked away at the back of the complex. It was low traffic so I let my kids play there. We also had a single car garage that I often cleaned up while the kids played in front of it. For some reason, I always felt especially prompted and careful that I never let them out of my sight when they played there. Not even to run into the apartment quickly and come out again. One day I was in the garage, and this blue car pulls up driven by a man with woman passenger. They stop right next to my kids who were on trikes. The woman nochalantly gets out of the car, and then leaves her door open, and opens the rear two doors. I walk out with a "What's going on' look on my face. The woman nochalantly reverses her steps, closes the doors, and then gets back into the car. They drive off. I'm sure they were about to steal my children. And because they came with such lightening to my kids, it wouldn't surprise me if they lived in that complex as well. I regret that I was so busy processing what happened that I didn't get their car license number; perhaps I could've saved other children's lives. Edited May 15, 2010 by mormonmusic
bcguy Posted May 15, 2010 Author Report Posted May 15, 2010 mormonmusic, I understand where you come from. good for you to be there at the right time and quickly evaluate the situation. Unfortunately, its often to late for a lot of other kids that are taken. Quote
Traveler Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 I am not sure I would categorize such things as "seer" events. I had a few experiences on my mission that I thought were quite exceptional and was sharing the experiences with a bishop. He listened and then told me something he said he had not told but maybe 5 other people in his life. The event happened when he was a little inactive. His friend and a recent returned missionary used the power of the priesthood to move a mountain. This was significant to me because it answered an inquire I had made to the L-rd some months previous. The spirit gave witness to me of the truthfulness of the event. At first I thought not to give the story but have changed my mind – here is the story. The bishop and his friend were driving up the Alaska highway from the USA to work for the summer in an open Jeep. They were driving up a seep mountain road that was cut into a mountain. On one side were solid rock and the other side a cliff dropping off over a hundred feet. As they were driving a large truck came around a turn in front of them and there was spring ice on the road. The truck could not stop and was going fast enough and they were far away from help that an accident would most like end in loss of life. The larger truck attempted to break but could not stop in time to cause serious damage. In the last seconds before the truck hit the Jeep the friend of the bishop stood up in the Jeep and commanded the mountain to move. The bishop told me that there was not a sound and the mountain moved back about 20 feet allowing to Jeep to swerve into what had moments before been solid rock. He said after they passed he watched the mountain move back into place – again without any sound. The Traveler Quote

Their are some sick people in the world. Quote

Mosiah 8:16 16 And Ammon said that a seer is a revelator and a prophet also; and a gift which is greater can no man have, except he should possess the power of God, which no man can; yet a man may have great power given him from God.Mosiah 8:17 17 But a seer can know of things which are past, and also of things which are to come, and by them shall all things be revealed, or, rather, shall secret things be made manifest, and hidden things shall come to light, and things which are not known shall be made known by them, and also things shall be made known by them which otherwise could not be known.Seer is a gift that is given to those who are heirs unto salvation. This would also, includes one to have the ‘honor’ of GOD? Or, in another words, the power of GOD to do HIS will. Does this fit your description of seership? Good friend, Daniel Ludlow, pointed out in his book “Companion to Your Study of the Doctrine and Covenants, vol. 2” , what constitutes a Seer; A seer is one who sees, a see-er. The Book of Mormon indicates that a seer is a person who has the right to use the "holy interpreters" or the Urim and Thummim. (Mosiah 8:13-17; Mosiah 28:10-16.) Ammon also testified that "a seer is a revelator and a prophet also; and a gift which is greater can no man have." (Mosiah 8:16.) The members of the First Presidency and Council of the Twelve Apostles, together with the Patriarch to the Church, are sustained by members of the Church as "prophet, seers, and revelators.""The President of the Church is sustained by the people as 'Prophet, Seer, and Revelator, and President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.' This is in compliance with the revealed word of God. The first revelation received by Joseph Smith after the organization of the Church on April 6, 1830, specifically declares that 'there shall be a record kept among you; and in it thou shalt be called a seer, a translator, a prophet, an apostle of Jesus Christ, an elder of the church through the will of God the Father, and the grace of your Lord Jesus Christ.' (D&C 21:1.) . . .""A seer is one who sees with spiritual eyes. He perceives the meaning of that which seems obscure to others; therefore he is an interpreter and clarifier of eternal truth. He foresees the future from the past and present. This he does by the power of the Lord operating through him directly, or indirectly with the aid of divine instruments such as the Urim and Thummim. In short, he is one who sees, who walks in the Lord's light with open eyes. (Mosiah 8:15-17.) . . .Now, whether it should be called Seership or the gift of revelatory promptings is up to you. But, like you, I had moments where there has been intersession made by those who are assigned, in protecting my life. Even a simple cell phone call at an quiet intersection, which I thought was from my beloved companion, prevented my death or serious injuries when the other person run a red light at 55-60 Mph. Or other precursory promptings of what is coming and avoided the situation that would have taken my life. Haven’t had any per say visions of major quakes since Dec 23 2004 so glad that's not on my mind. I tried to tell a few here concerning the plight of California but leave it in the Lord’s hand in reminding those who minds are receipted by the Spirit. :)Notable references pertaining to a Seer; D&C 21:1; 107:92; 124:94, 125; 127:12: 135:3; Moses 6:36, 38; JS-H 1:35; 2 Chr. 9:29; 12:15; 16:7, 10; 19:2; 29:25, 30; 35:15; 2 Ne. 3:6-7, 11, 14; Mosiah 8:13, 15-17; 28:16.
