Zowieink Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 After I drop my son at the MTC in Provo I'm heading off to Hong Kong for a little solo vacation. Does anyone have any recommendations? I plan to do some temple work at the temple and a lot of sight seeing. Need help for the 6 days I'm there! Quote
pam Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Go to Stanley Market...Tiger Balm garden. And have to hit Victoria Peak but make sure it's a clear day. The views are amazing from there. Quote
pam Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 And if you see Fried Silver Fish on the menu..don't order it. It really is the Silver Fish bugs. Made that mistake. Quote
pam Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 And if you can take one of the night cruises around the bay that includes dinner on a floating restaurant..try that too. Wish I were going. I LOVED Hong Kong. Quote
Mute Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 I had no idea there was a temple in Hong Kong Quote
pam Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Yes it's several stories high since land is at a premium there. Quote

prisonchaplain Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 There used to be a night market in Yau Ma Tei. It was real blue collar and earthy...worth seeing. The little ride across the harbor on the ferry is great--and very cheap. Also fun is to ride the little boats they row for you. You are level with the water...great stuff. My problem is that I lived there--but it was 1985, so I'm afraid to say too much--it's probably all changed. Enjoy though--it's a fast-paced, neon-lit wonderland. Quote
pam Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Yep Star Ferry between Hong Kong and Kowloon. Quote
