lizevo Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 Hello! After days of lurking, i'm making my first post. I am just starting my search and learning more about Mormonism. I am in a complicated situation because I have a boyfriend of 4 years and i've started to discover we are going down separate paths. He is an atheist that does not want to get married or have kids. He is a wonderful, loving person but I know he is not willing to budge on those views and I respect that. I was once in the same boat as him (no religion, kids or marriage), but I have always has this little ball of light inside me that was searching or feeling that there was something more out there for me and as I get older (i'm 27) it starts burning brighter and brighter. I feel drawn to the LDS because every Mormon I have met has been just so sincerely nice and had such a strong pull to family and faith. Until I decide where our relationship is truly heading and move out on my own, I can't have missionaries in my house so this is going to be a slow process. I am excited to learn more and find out if this is my true path. I just really had to get this off my chest and talk to people who maybe have been in the same boat or have any advice or words of wisdom. Thanks for listening :) Quote

dahlia Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 I would recommend the 'Gospel Principles' as well - especially online if you worry about bringing LDS materials into the house. This is a great site for having questions answered and for innocently causing all kinds of debate amongst the 'real' LDS members! I read every thing I could get my hands on for months before the missionaries showed up at my door. Fortunately, much of this materials is free online, so keep reading. Quote
