It took me 10 years of study to compile the timeline. What you see here is a shortened version of a timeline which I created which has all old testament dates in it. I used several ancient records from books written before 200 AD to finally come to this proven timeline.

You may be right. Many others have tried, but failed. One of the problems is the internal dating within the Bible. Since our current version of the Torah was written by E and J in the times of Rehoboam (circa 850 BC), we can only guess they got it right.

Second, our calendars today are different than the ones the ancient Jews used. We use a solar calendar, while Jews used either a lunar or solar-lunar calendar. And if we look at the ages at which the earliest patriarch died (about 900-1000 years), are we certain their dating of time was the same as ours?

What if one or two (or dozens) of people in the timeline were skipped on accident?

What year did the Exodus occur? Scholars differ by centuries. And the normal time period believed to be when Joshua destroyed Jericho doesn't match up with archaeological dating of Jericho's walls collapsing.

I could go on with many other problems with dating in the Bible. The stories are generally accurate, but the time frames are often questionable.

As for the time for the 1/2 hour silence in heaven, how do you know it hasn't already happened? What if 9/11 was that sign? Or some other event? And you are assuming the 1/2 hour equals 21 years (God's time, where 1 God day = 1000 man years). That is pure speculation. For all we know it could simply be 1/2 hour.

Or God's day could be approximated to 1000 man years. How do we know that all of God's days are of exact length? Perhaps they last as long as he needs them to, to accomplish a specific task. For example, in the Creation, maybe the first day actually took 4 billion man years, and the second day took 300 million man years. How do we really know? We do not. All we can do is assume certain concepts as fact, and then build a time line around those assumptions.

That is not proof. Interesting? Perhaps. But not proof.

It has not happened yet because before that half hour of silence we must first see the sun turn black and the moon to blood red. I believe these things will happen before April 6th of 2013. If that date passes and you do not see these things then I made mistakes. I am not a prophet only someone who has done a lot of study. Take it or leave it as you wish. You have to understand how many others have given timelines and been wrong based upon even educated guesses.

We even have a resident who takes these, puts them up on his computer calendar, and comes back when that timeline comes along to point out the utter failure of those people.

I, for instance, was almost positive that Israel would move against Iran prior to them having a fully functional nuclear reactor and I gave a timeline. I was wrong on that. And it's okay to be wrong. Just remember you'll get ribbing if/when you're wrong.

Actually, they don't always agree. There are even differences in time periods in Kings and Chronicles in the Bible.

That these writings are 2000 years old (not all of them, btw, Jasher is actually a medieval production), means you are missing 4000 years of direct data.

It is the same as the person who claims his genealogy goes back to Adam. Well it depends. These lines all go back to Charlemagne, who claimed lineage back to King David. This all is based on the conjecture that Charles the Great actually had a lineage, or whether he invented one in order to have the Pope declare him the Holy Roman Emperor (direct line to David).

I'm more curious about the future dates on this timeline than in the past ones. One of the signs of the Second Coming that is spelled out in pretty good detail in the scriptures is of the two "witnesses" (or prophets that are to be raised up to the Jewish nation , as clarified in D&C) that will be killed and lie in the streets in Jerusalem for 3 days before rising again. Prior to that, they will be preaching there for 3.5 years, which means that they would already have to have begun that ministry. One thing that isn't specified is whether they will be LDS, or actually Jewish.

McConkie identified the two prophets as “followers of that humble man Joseph Smith, through whom the Lord of Heaven restored the fulness of his everlasting gospel in this final dispensation of grace. No doubt they will be members of the Council of the Twelve or of the First Presidency of the Church.” ( Doctrinal New Testament Commentary, 3:509.)

Also, your timeline does not engage the prophecies involved in D&C 87, which are not yet fulfilled.

I think he was attempting to show us how we too could build our own world timelines and hold them up as factual, even if they are based on guesses, hearsay and inaccurate and disagreeing texts.
