As the Primary has been learning "Praise to the Man" this last month, I've been wondering where the music comes from. The Hymnbook attributes it to a Scottish Folk song. Anyone know the song?

And I thought it was an old Irish drinking song... especially when you're singing about a heroic death.

We heard this played at Brigham Young Park last week on bagpipes!

One of my companions on my mission played the bagpipes. During his mission, he practiced on the chanter alone, or the part with the finger holes where the melody comes from. He was quite good, and he played Praise to the Man all the time.
