pushka Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Erm, is this a joke post Jason? I cannot see any picture of you in the post and your avatar has not altered, unless you've since changed it back? Quote

prisonchaplain Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Do you like the beard? Mixed reaction from the wife. Don't know how to take it.This is a luke warm effort at facial hair Jason. Either shave it, or grow it out full, adding a moustache. You may be on to something here...but we need to see it blossom. Quote
miztrniceguy Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 looks like ya fell face first in the dirt Quote
pushka Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Thanks for showing how to view it folks, Jason I haven't made my mind up about the facial hair yet! Quote
pushka Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Yeah, come to think of it...I like the short, spiky hairdo, but don't think the facial hair goes too well with it...sorry!!! Quote
Jason Posted July 21, 2006 Author Report Posted July 21, 2006 Dang...that's 4 nays. Are there no facial hair lovers out there? Quote
MBASS Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Its all scratchy, I like snuggling to a smooth cheek! Quote

Jason, to be honest, if your wife says, "Well...????" that's the worst condemnation possible. She's just too polite and loving to tell you that the new look uh, "inhales."On the other hand, thank you for giving us a topic in which almost the entire community here agrees. Unity is a rare but beautiful thing. Quote
Jason Posted July 21, 2006 Author Report Posted July 21, 2006 Wow, that's great chap. Nothing like finding a way to bring everyone together. Quote
Fiannan Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 So how the heck does one post a photo? Quote
Jason Posted July 21, 2006 Author Report Posted July 21, 2006 Go to "My Controls". Under "Personal Profile" you'll see "Change Personal Photo". Upload a pic of yourself from your hard drive or some online link of yourself. Quote
shanstress70 Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Jason, if you like the facial hair, go for it... unless your wife really hates it! I updated my photo. I think it's cool to be able to put faces with the names all you guys (but I also respect anonymity if some would rather not). Quote

john doe Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 I say give it a while before shaving it off unless your wife absolutely can't stand it. You have to let things like that grow on you. Plus you need to let your beard grow past the 'itchy' stage before you decide whether you want to keep it on your face. Many guys can't stand the itch and shave it off without really giving it a chance. I've had my mustache for almost 25 years continuously, with the exception of that one 'accident' where I slipped while shaving and had to cut it all off. My wife made me grow it right back, said I looked funny without it (of course, most people think I look funny with or without the mustache anyway ). My kids would just snicker when I was around them. But I'm kind of getting tired of it, and keep threatening to go bald-faced but my wife won't give me permission. On the other hand, I hear that around here, people who get called to bishopric positions are requested to fully shave, so refusal to remove a mustache may be just enough to keep them looking elsewhere. Maybe I'll keep it for a while, until I get too old to be in the bishopric. Then it will be safe to shave again. Quote

We have a couple of Bishops in our Stake that have facial hair.....they have never been asked to remove it.....thats interesting.....I do know Stake Presidents have more authority in their stakes now tha before...perhaps it might be the Stake Presidents suggestion. Guest MrsS Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Do you like the beard? Mixed reaction from the wife. Don't know how to take it. How long did it take you to grow? My ex husband couldn't easily grow a beard. For him to have as much as you do now, it would have taken him three months! It does look like you fell chin first in the dirt. Normally I like facial hair on men. But this style of beard doesn't do you justice. Your face is just too long. Perhaps if you had thicker hair on your head and a thicker rounder beard, it would shorten and soften your face. I vote: SHAVE Quote
Lindy Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 well I vote keep it and see where it goes... your wife might like how it turns out.... but if IF she doesn't.... I think you need to take her feelings into consideration too. PS... I like the scruffy look on you Jason. It suits you :) Quote
