meg1620 Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 Alright, what did I do to deserve this?? How often does the RS president and a counselor meet with sisters? The RS president just called and asked to come by tonight at 7. Quote
Spartan117 Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 Very often if your ward is firing on all cylinders. Quote
Gwen Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 I tell ppl that less than 24 hours notice is unreasonable unless it is an emergency. They can call and ask to come by with less notice but I may say no or not invite them in, we can talk on the porch. lol Quote
meg1620 Posted August 16, 2011 Author Report Posted August 16, 2011 I don't mind - I would have said no if my house was a mess. Just hoping it's a routine visit and not a calling! Quote
Spartan117 Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 Callings are offered by a member of the Bishopric at the ward level. Quote
meg1620 Posted August 17, 2011 Author Report Posted August 17, 2011 Awesome! Thanks for the info - I'm still a new member (as if it weren't that obvious). Quote
Spartan117 Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Me too, mostly. I was baptized last year. You should actually be getting somewhat regular visits from different people/leaders who will want to get to know you and make sure you're transition into the ward is going good for you. You may not, but if your RS president and one her counselors is visiting it sounds like you've got good people around you. So how new are you? Quote
meg1620 Posted August 17, 2011 Author Report Posted August 17, 2011 I was baptized this Easter. Glad I found these forums since then!! Quote
pam Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 RS Presidencies do make routine visits to get out to know the sisters in their ward. Nothing unusual about it. Quote

Madriglace Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 RS Presidency regularly visit sisters in order to get to know them better ... especially when the presidency is just new. They also do visits to ask sisters to be visiting teachers, and when they do yearly VT interviews with each VT. These are in addition to the regular visiting teaching visits. Visits will also be done if a report has come in that compassionate service is needed. Sometimes the visits are as a direct response to listening to the Spirit in regard to their calling. They may not know why they are there just that Spirit directed them to go. Quote
Spartan117 Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Are you in a singles ward or a family ward? Quote
