The London terror alert will wake people up to the fact that even in our sugar coated, politically correct, "Let's all learn from Star Trek" view of life in the western world there are people out there who have some really mean opinions. Worse, there are many who view the west as infidels and deserving of subjugation or worse. Welcome to the jungle.

There are some wacko people out there at the moment. That he actually believes that rubbish is the real problem and I didn't see any people objecting to it either.

I feel very lucky though, it was only a week ago this friday that my family and I returned from our holiday in Spain. If it turns out that they were going to bomb flights into and out of the UK as they have been saying on the news here, then we might not be here right now. It does make you think about what motivates these people to hate us with such passion.

As far as what motivates these people? Consider the words of Jesus in John 8:41-44

Hi Traveller. So what you are saying is that these people are inspired by Satan to do what they are doing? I would have no argument there, but does this cover all muslims or just those who do terrible acts such as 9/11 and 7/7 attacks in the UK?

I actually would reply that all Muslims, or whatever religion. who justify rape, subjugation and killing of innocent people, all in the name of hate I might add, are of Satan.

I have known Muslims that are full of the spirit of Christ in my opinion -- but these guys out yelling "death to Jewish apes" or "death to the Great Satan America", or who get off watching hostages get their throats slit on the internet, or who plan terrorist attacks are far from Christ.

These are the ones that are full of the power of Satan. They are using the cover of islam to do all kinds of evil deeds. I totally support what the USA and the UK and their allies are doing in this war against terrorism. I only wish the more moderate muslims would stand up to the evil being done in the name of islam by these evil people.

I've not studied the Middle East conflict in any depth, but my surface-level guess is that the Palestinians, and most Muslims in the region, believe the Middle East has been and should be Muslim land--that it had been so for centuries, and the Western govts who granted Israel a parcel after WWII, did so without legality, legitimacy or consideration for the surrounding nations.

They then believe that Israel made cruel use of the Palestinians as cheap labor upon which to build their nation, and then turned around and brutalized them as a dangerous horde. I believe another string here has an IMAM making this very connection--that Israel has done to the Palestinians as Germany (or perhaps Egypt over 3000 years ago) did to them.

Of course, such arguments are very lopsided, unreasoned, and bigoted. But, when struggle between nations or peoples spans generations, it becomes passionate and blind.

Is Satan behind the terrorists? Well, in a sense, of course. However, despite my general inclination to support Israel, me thinks it would be a mistake to count them the angels and all opponents the demons.
