MBASS Posted August 13, 2006 Author Report Posted August 13, 2006 I love Jasons oppositison, like Lindy it helps me think and firm up my belief. Are there any that may be overly critical because he makes them think and it scares them? Just wondering.................. Quote

Maureen Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 <div class='quotemain'>He created a hybrid antelope/Methodist in the lab and was intent on loosing it into the wild.We couldn't permit that. This may be slightly , but I'm wondering what a pentecostal mormon hybrid would look like. + + + = There is actually a church known as Pentescostal Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, here's a link from wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentecostal_C...tter_Day_SaintsI'm pretty sure years ago they used to have their own website with history and all, but I can't find one now. You might have to just imagine, they seem to be a bigger mystery years later. M. Quote

Not making fun though... I know it's a great site with tons of great info. Quote

How did you hack into the moderator discussion forum? That's exactly what we voted on...Jason made us think, that scared the heck out of us, so we silenced him! We mods gotta' be more careful about site security...if this gets out, the proles will revolt!!! Quote

BenRaines Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 I have heard a lot about Wikipedia and while it can be a resourse it also can be suspect. Anyone can post their definition in Wikipedia. Not that it is being done but it can. Here is their link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not Quote
begood2 Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 I openly love Jason. He is just in a sort of time out if you will. This will help him the learn what will and will not get through to the board. He has been here long enough to know these things but lately had been pushing the window of what is acceptable.I love my LDS religion very much and I get offended very easily....that is why I never go to or join the open forum discussions. I appreciate the fact that it is available however for those who have cocerns/issues to discuss that might offend us G and PG readers. :) Quote
Dr T Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Those replies go out to every member? Can it be set up to only be accessed by those that are allowed access to that section? Dr. T Quote
BenRaines Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 The Open forums are only for those who are over 18 for one and if you have concerns about going there then don't. There is plenty of information in the rest of the forums for those who are interested. BenRaines Quote

MBASS Posted August 15, 2006 Author Report Posted August 15, 2006 Whoo hoo! Now you have to behave or my campaign will have been in vain! LOL! Quote
Maureen Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Maureen, you always crack me up with your Wikipedia links. I think they pay you to advertise their site! Not making fun though... I know it's a great site with tons of great info. I love wikipedia and dictionary.com, I use them daily. For the Pentecostal Mormon sect, I know they had had a website years ago because I had found it; so all I could use presently was wikipedia. When I first came across this group, I thought to myself, "What, Pentecostal Mormons - that's practically an oxymoron!" M. Quote
Jason Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 If you think about it Maureen, the dedication of the Kirtland Temple was a "pentecostal" experience, and these guys may be basing their beliefs on said experience (minus the abundant wine). ? Quote
miztrniceguy Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Pentecostal Mormons?raise your hand if you're a Catholic Mormon!! Quote
MBASS Posted August 15, 2006 Author Report Posted August 15, 2006 my mom is a catholic mormon lol Quote
prisonchaplain Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Pentecostal Mormons?Dr. T., you missed a good part of this string. I asked what a pentecostal mormon hybrid would look like, and Maureen find that there had been such a group--and gave a wikipedia reference. Quote
Dr T Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 I read that part P.C. Then they started using a combination of religious groups and I thought there was something I was missing out on. Sorry for my "catching up". Dr. T Quote
MBASS Posted August 16, 2006 Author Report Posted August 16, 2006 Dr T, I was saying my mom was catholic, now she's mormon. But she still likes some of the catholic's way of doing things...hence a catholic mormon! Quote
Jason Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 That's not a catholic mormon MBASS. A real catholic-mormon still venerates the Virgin Guadalupe and believes in Juan's vision as much as Joseph's. Quote
Dr T Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Hi MBASS, What Catholic things does she still do? Pray the rosary? Light candles, ask for intercessory prayer from Mary and the saints? Just curious, Dr. T Quote
MBASS Posted August 16, 2006 Author Report Posted August 16, 2006 Oh she doesnt do any catholic things except perhaps a midnight mass on christmas eve. She just misses the formality of services (christmas, etc) and doesnt like that palm sunday, other holidays that was important to her arent celebrated. Quote
