Vort
I am laughing but crying inside. We need to move Christs birth back to the spring, when He was born, and let these other people have december!!!!Not so. Jesus was probably not born April 6, and may well have been born around the winter solstice. What was the real date of Jesus' birth? | Deseret News
prisonchaplain
I wonder if, instead of saying Merry Christmas to everyone, we could just say, "God bless you." After all, there are some people who are not Christians. Most people, even atheists, are not offended when someone blesses them.
annewandering
I think people are just looking for reasons to complain. If you look you can always find something. :)
Guest xforeverxmetalx
I wonder if, instead of saying Merry Christmas to everyone, we could just say, "God bless you." After all, there are some people who are not Christians. Most people, even atheists, are not offended when someone blesses them. The problem I see with that is that people would get confused and tell you that they didn't sneeze.I say we should all say "happy December". Even atheists believe in December. But really, my personal opinion, to put it bluntly - if someone's offended by me saying "merry Christmas", then they probably deserve to be offended. It's a wish for joy - if you have any common sense, you'd know my intentions were good, and will take it as such, regardless of religious beliefs. Unfortunately, common sense isn't actually all that common. Edited December 12, 2011 by xforeverxmetalx
prisonchaplain
But what if you know someone is, for example, Jewish?
