Gwen Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 sanger, Where are you from? How old are you? Why do you want to continue your studies in America? What stucies or subject are you seeking? What can you provide yourself? What do you want somone else to provide? Not trying to be excessivly nosey, but these are things someone would need to know so they could know if this were something they could or wanted to do.
StrawberryFields Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 What kind of help are you looking for?
Princess3dward Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I AM AN LDS MEMBER AND I HAVE A DREAM OF COMING TO AMERICA TO FURTHER MY STUDIES.PLEASE KINDLY HELP ME ACTUALISE MY DREAM.DO THIS AND GOD WILL BLESS YOU.Whoo.. I don't mean to sound a little critical.... but you don't hand out the blessings, or decide what we get them for.I don't think you have authority to speak for him...
Yokomsa Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I AM AN LDS MEMBER AND I HAVE A DREAM OF COMING TO AMERICA TO FURTHER MY STUDIES.PLEASE KINDLY HELP ME ACTUALISE MY DREAM.DO THIS AND GOD WILL BLESS YOU.Dear Sanger-I admire those that wish to come to America to further their education, but in these cases the laws of the land come into play. You have to go through the application process to get a green card for education and you have to be accepted to a school. OR you have to find someone like an employer to sponsor you for entry into this country.Where are you from? What I would do, is speak to your Bishop, stake president, branch president and have them assist you.The website for BYU might also have information pertaining to foreign students as well.Good luck in your quest for knowledge
john doe Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 What kind of help are you looking for?I'm thinking it's cash he/she wants, the more untraceable and untrackable the better.
john doe Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 So unmarked and small denoms? And non-sequential serial numbers. Used bills are a plus.
Dr T Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I forgot those. That was good John Doe.
Jason Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 I love those African scams where some government official has just contacted "you" to help them get several million dollars of some unmarked fund, or some dead guy's bank account, or whatever and all you have to do is pay the taxes to get it transfered to your own bank account. Of course, with so many millions, you'll have to pony-up a few measly grand, payable to Mr. John Smith of the Treasury department of Nigeria. And the bad thing about this is that there are literally dozens of suckers every day who take the bait. Hey Sanger, if you're legit, why don't you try and build Zion at home, eh? B)

The funny thing is that now they include a link to a news story about a man who was killed in a plane crash or other accident saying something like, "Read about him here..." I find it hard to believe that people actually give these email senders their credit card numbers, but they do!

Dr T Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 What if this person is legit? Is there a proper channel?
BenRaines Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Dr. T, There are proper channels for most anyone. The place to start is at home. If LDS with local leaders. The church implemented a program a couple of years ago called the Perpetual Education Fund. Members make donations as they can, not like tithing or fast offerings, and this money is the seed money to provide small loans to members in third world countries. Once education or training is completed then they are expected to repay as they can so that those funds can be loaned to another. The core or seed money of the PEF is never touched just what is earned by investing the fund. It has grown tremendously in the few years since it was established and has helped thousands. Ben Raines
Dr T Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Thanks Ben. That sounds like a great idea. I love it! Dr. T
BenRaines Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 Dr. T. Here is the link to the Perpetual Education Fund so that you can learn more about the great work being gone there.http://lds.org/ldsfoundation/pef/welcome/0...03-1-10,00.html
Princess3dward Posted September 19, 2006 Report Posted September 19, 2006 The Sultan of whatsit offerec is lile 1 mill.... but we are too lazy to risk a thousand on that! LOL!
Jason Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Found this little number in my Spam folder tonight: Dear Friend,Do accept my sincere apologies if my mail does not meet your personal Ethics. I introduce myself as Dr.John Oko a staff in the accounts management Section of awell-known Bank here in the Nigeria. One of our ccounts with holding balance of $31,500,000 (Thrity One Million Five HundredThousand United State Dollars) has been dormant and last operated in the past 3 years. From my investigations and confirmations, the owner of this account is a Foreigner by name Gerald Stone died on the 4th of January 2002 on a plane crash.Since then nobody has done anything as regards the claiming of this money as he has no family Member who is aware of the existence of either the account nor the Fund. He was a contractor with the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation NNPC).Information from the National Immigration also states that he was single on entry into the Nigeria.I have confidentially discussed this issue with some of the Bank officials and we have agreed to find a reliable foreign partner to deal with. We thus propose to do business with you, standing in as partina with the Oil Company in Nigeria of these funds from the deceased and funds released to you after due processes have been followed. Your name and your information will be submited as one of the contractors to the senate and to the bank so that it transaction will be investigated and approved for transfer. This transaction is totally free of risk and troubles as the fund is Legitimate and does not originate from drug, money laundry, terrorism or any other Illegal act.On your interest, let me hear from you.Regards,Dr. John Oko. If you're really interested, he may consider an alternative partner (even though it's obvious why the "Oil Company in Nigeria" chose to do business with me, being Im such a well known international businessman and all). Here's his email: [email protected]Enjoy.
