I've been so absorbed in conference and family time, I only now saw this thread. :) You can bet I've been excited, and am just as excited for the rest.

To go with Pam's common theme- I noticed that the talks focused quite a bit on family. There was a lot about the importance of families, of parental roles, of raising children in righteousness, and of focusing on spending time with the family. I think it is wonderful that we have such a strong focus on the family.

Perhaps it is best that I not go this year. I am at home with sneezing, coughing, runny nose. I do not know if it is alergy or nasty cold. :(

I think the fact that we can watch it on the internet is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. It should be normal to now, but I still am amazed.

As a person who teaches and researches on issues regarding society, work, and technology use, I find the Church's use of technology to be simply amazing. Where some mindlessly reject technology, the Church rightly admonishes against internet porn and gaming addictions, but otherwise seems entirely open to using whatever technologies will spread the Gospel and help members.

GRRRRRRR, I waited all session to hear the closing song by the choir only to have my computer tell me I needed to do an update and I missed the entire song. GRRRRRRR

I wonder if David didn't practice with them before even entering the MTC. And besides those learning a language..aren't most only there a couple of weeks anyway?

My memory is hazy, but IIRC when I was in the MTC there were so many would-be choir singers that even though anyone who wanted to could go to practice, those who could actually sing in performances were determined more or less by lottery--certain districts could or couldn't send singers for any given performance.

Methinks the system was fudged a bit for Elder Archuleta. :D

And notice he was in the front row.

Next time, if I watch it on line, I will try to have another member with me, and not have a roaring cold. I like being there in person. Too many distractions at home for this girl. :)

I truly believe that when the speakers prayed for inspiration that they were truly answered individually. I don't remember a conference when the same message was given so clearly in almost every single talk. And that was that Heavenly Father is mindful of each of us and loves each of us. It's almost as if Heavenly Father used these servants of his to make sure we all knew that.
