Sorry Dancergirl. If you read that upside down, it says WOW. That is not correct.

The word is the same forward, backward and upside down. Sorry it wasn't clear.

While you work on that one, I'll post another one that might be a little easier:

I have keys that open no locks,

I have space, but there is no room,

You can enter, but you can't go in.

What am I?

You really are good Miztrniceguy. Those both work. The word that I am looking for has four letters in it. I like the use of "I" though. Any thoughts on the one that has four letters?

Keyboard is correct. :)

A doctor and a bus driver are both in love with the same woman, an attractive girl named Sarah. The bus driver had to go on a long bustrip that would last a week. Before he left, he gave Sarah seven apples. Why?

I haven't looked at anyone else's answer - to keep the doctor away! :P

What word can be written forward, backward or upside down, and can still be read from left to right?

toot

"Toot" upside down is not "toot" when read upside down.

the "oo" part is correct though.

True if you have fancy "t's", but if the "t" looks like a "plus sign" with a height problem, it might work. :hmmm:

How about:

lool n. (Metal.) A vessel used to receive the washings of ores of metals.

A man and his son are involved in a horrific car crash. The father is killed instantly and his son is terribly injured. An ambulance arrives at the scene and he is rushed to the hospital straight into the operating room. The doctor comes in and says, "Oh my, that's my son!" How is this possible?
