Great article. Gave me quite a bit more insight as to what the world of a prison chaplain is like.

This article is quite excellent. She quotes Gary Friedman a couple of times. He's the director of Jewish Prisoners Support International, a great friend of chaplains, and someone I've met and interacted with quote often. Each jail/prison setting is unique, but this article hits many of the commonalities.

I imagine it can be quite a challenge to love and minister to a group of people that will often lie to you and use you to satisfy some want or other. I have a hefty respect for folks who will try to do good in such circumstances.
