NeuroTypical Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) How interesting."Nobody asked me to disavow my book or stop writing," Hanks said. "All they asked me about was my relationship to Jesus Christ."I've heard a lot of church critics opine about the 'september six' and what it absolutely has to mean about the church. This statement shoots so many holes in their opining, I'm going to predict some of these critics will be trying to smear this lady's motives, character, honesty, and probably any other attribute they can grab. Vort Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 As one who has had very, very little sympathy for the self-inflicted public excommunication of the "September Six", I admit that I am both surprised and, surprisingly (to me), pleased to see Sister Hanks rebaptized. If she wants to be part of the kingdom of God and her leaders have approved the move, I can only say, Welcome back, Sister. Quote
Suzie Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 Very glad to read she is back and very glad that she wasn't asked to disavow her book or stop writing. Quote
rameumptom Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 While I disagree with several things in her book and teachings, I am absolutely pleased to have her back in the fold. If she's willing to answer positively to the baptismal questions and sustain her leadership, then she's definitely my sister in the gospel. Quote

If that is enough for the file leadership involved, then that should be enough for anybody else. Quote
bytor2112 Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 Nice story...but the comments at the end of course devolve rapidly into an exhausting diatribe of nay sayers doubters and mockers. Ughh........... Quote

None of which have anything to do with her book... Quote

None of which have anything to do with her book...I am sure Peggy correctly quoted her, that only questions about her relationship to Jesus were asked, nothing about the book or her teachings. Quote

I assume the leaders are guided by the Spirit in such things. Quote
woundedknee Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 I very much like your response. I am neither glad nor unhappy that she was or was not asked to curtail her writing. I assume the leaders are guided by the Spirit in such things. Quote
