August is always full of crazy thunderstorms, and into the start of September. If I recall, last year had a storm that put last night's to SHAME. A TREMENDOUSLY HUGE bolt hit very closely, with the associated thunderclap that sounded like our neighborhood was being blown up, right at a... well.... "personal" moment between my wife and I. I will never forget the look of my wife's face, frozen in fear, in just that pose.

Anyway, I took this from my rooftop a few years ago, right at this time of year:

That is beautiful! And you're brave.. I'd never let my spouse get on top of the roof in a thunder lightening storm like that! O_O

Oh, goodness, my wife is sooooo used to me doing dangerous and stupid things.

Like the time I was trying to get a good picture of a rattlesnake that I found. I had to give it a good bit of coaxing to finally get it to coil up and "pose" for me.

Are you a photographer? What kind of camera do you use?

Well, got a little rain Friday night. It was nice listening to thunder at midnight.

Next day was in Park Valley and wanted to practice target shooting, but a lightning storm came right out of nowhere.

Where is Park Valley?
