idahommie Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Quick question. I was under the impression that when Elders are not with their companion, that they must be with another Melchizedek priesthood holder? (I.e. elders can not do splits with priests.....) Quote
szorgalmasan Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 I think that is up to the mission president. If not, we sinned repeatedly in my mission under the direction of our President. Quote
Guest Doctrine Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 In my ward we encourage priest to go on splits with the elders to help them understand the roll of a missionary and encourage them to serve. now that is not to say that some leaders might like the priest to be 18 when this happens. Guest Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Here's a kind of silly question. When the missionaries are at church and one needs to visit the bathroom, do they both have to go? Ours got up and walked out in the middle of stake conference on Sunday and it made me wonder. Quote

I don't know the current rule, but I know that when I was on my mission there were times when I sent a companion off on transfers and I was alone for 3-4 hours before the next one arrived. No one said anything to me about getting another priesthood holder to accompany me during those times, and I didn't seek one out. Quote
Anddenex Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 In California, when I was 17, the summer of my 18th birthday I went on splits with the missionaries. I was only a Priest at this time, and this is one of the reasons that helped me to decide to serve a mission. Quote

It seems silly to me, when you're at church, to have to be accompanied to the bathroom -- it's more disruptive both two people to get up and leave a meeting than just one. But I think it kind-of depends on your companion. Quote

Guest Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 If the two of you are right, those were some homely and inappropriately dressed sister missionaries. Quote
