Hello all! So I am a freshman and it's my first year of seminary. My seminary starts at 5:20 A.M and ends at 6:15 A.M. thing is, I want to be more involved in my school and I want to be in Orchestra and with that I have to be at school at 6:30. but my seminary building is 25 minutes away from my school (i live in the California countryside) and so what do I do? I don't want to give up seminary, I really love it! but I also want to be more involved in my school...

My daughter has the exact situation. She was always reliable so when she spoke with the teacher and asked if she can be late (she gave him a time she can be there that was quite reasonable) he had no problem telling her it was ok. The important point is that she never abused it and stayed on top of her work.

I have a testimony of Seminary. Back in my day it was at 5:30 in the morning. I noticed that on the rare days that I missed Seminary, my day at school didn't go as well.

I'm with Slamjet on this one. See if you can work out with your music director to be just a few minutes late. Then stick with it to prove that you are keeping your end of the arrangement.

Ram and Slam had great answers. You could also do home study seminary instead of early morning. Our daughter this year considered home study due to some other commitments. In the end she ended up doing early morning, however, home study is an option.
