Backroads Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 On Sunday, our X-Box 360 displayed what apparently is known as the Red Circle of Death (according to my husband).Yes, yes, I know a lot of you gamers are gasping in horror and weeping over this. The warranty has expired, and while I did suggest Husband could buy another if he saw a good bargain, he has decided to simply wait for his little brother to leave on his mission (February) and then use his. While I do have what might be more than just a vague fondness for Skyrim, there's a big part of me that goes "Yippee!" (hence the controversy for all you gamers). While Husband is very good about reserving video game time for after most other things, I'm rather looking forward to a couple months of no video games. Maybe doing other activities. It's kind of a blessing.Though I will miss slaying dragons. Quote
jerome1232 Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 Time for a real gaming console, the personal computer.(That actually looks like he's doing some type of geology work, but what's not impressive about that many monitors?) Quote
Brother_Anon Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 My wife just might agree with you! :) Although for us the Xbox is also used for Netflix streaming and Amazon Prime Video, both of which probably get used more than game discs. Quote

He's actually trained in this type of thing. Now we just have to find him a job where he can do it. Quote
mnn727 Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 My question would be, how did you get it to die? Quote

Backroads Posted December 19, 2012 Author Report Posted December 19, 2012 My question would be, how did you get it to die?Probably using it to play my pregnancy yoga dvds... I can't think of anything less manly. Quote
Brother_Anon Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 Yoga DVD's just might do it.... If it's the "red ring of death", that was a fairly common malfunction in the early Xboxes. Backroads, is the Xbox white? If so, those DVD's may have saved it! I haven't heard of a white one that has lasted this long without going bad. Quote
Backroads Posted December 19, 2012 Author Report Posted December 19, 2012 Nah, tis black... Husband considered trying to repair it himself, but borrowing Elder Brother's X-box won out. Quote
Anddenex Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Simple answer -- Yes -- I expect more compassion Quote
NeuroTypical Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 A guy who used to live in my ward once threw the family TV out of their 2nd story window. Never really got the full story, but they were a fun and interesting family. Quote
Guest Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 I'm guilty of having thrown out a PlayStation... long story. Quote
