Prayer Roll?

When submitting a name should it be their full name or just first and last or just first?

If I have a full name I give the full name, including middle or maiden. If I don't then I give the name I have. Heavenly Father knows his children.

It was for a family member, so I know the full name. I just wasn't sure if I should give the full name or not. Thanks again for helping!

I only use the first and last....there have been times when I could not remember the first name and used Sister or Brother so and so

I only use the person's first and last name; Joe Bloggs.

 

While we're on the subject of the Prayer Roll, there's something i've been wondering about... I know members can put names on the Roll, but what about non-members? If they have the number, are they allowed to call and add a name? 

 

Also, something's gotten me very curious... I read somewhere that if a person's name is put on the Prayer Roll at one Temple, it's as though it's been placed on the Prayer Roll at all the temples across the globe. I'm just wondering if that's true? If so, how does that work?

There was a comment by a General Authority that stated that we don't need to call multiple temples to put a name on a prayer roll.  I'd have to find it.  Calling just one temple is sufficient for the purpose intended.

Thanks, that's good to know. What about the non-member part of my previous post? If a non-member has the number for the prayer roll of their nearest Temple, are they allowed to call and put names on?

They've never asked for my name or membership status when I call.

My aunt left the church decades ago. She went through her period of militant anti-Mormonism, now is far more peaceful. Her views are all inclusive and New Age-y... and yes, she says she occassionally calls the temple to put people on the prayer roll. Good karma and energy and all that, in her view.
