Vort Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 I have loved Bishop Caussé's talks, so I'm happy to see him in that position. pam 1 Quote
Guest MormonGator Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 Forgive me in advance, but what are their duties? How are they different from the seventies? I'm a convert, so I ask in sheer ignorance, nothing else Quote

I'm a convert, so I ask in sheer ignorance, nothing else The Seventies support the 12 in the mission to proclaim the gospel to all the World (in a way the more spiritual aspects of the church) The Presiding Bishopric handles the buildings and finances etc... (in a way the more worldly but necessary aspects of the church) Of course there is some overlap and the 12 preside over both Vort 1 Quote

cdowis Posted October 19, 2015 Report Posted October 19, 2015 Bishop Caussé has a very impressive professional background which fits well with his role as Presiding Bishop. Think "logistics" -- moving food and supplies from one place to another. Bishop Caussé received a master’s degree in business from ESSEC in 1987. His career has been in the food industry, where he worked with several supermarket chains and food distribution companies. At the time of his call to the First Quorum of the Seventy, he was the general manager of Pomona, a food distribution company in France.https://www.lds.org/church/leader/gerald-j-causse?lang=eng&role=07 Quote

One of the primary functions of the Presiding Bishop is to oversee the welfare programs of the Church including the Bishop's Storehouse and welfare farms. Quote
Palerider Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Our tithing money buys trucks that go over the road to deliver these goods around the country. Everything from food to milk and white shirts and equipment for the choir etc. There are about 8-10 trucks that leave LDS Distribnution each Monday morning Quote
