Sunday21 Posted April 27, 2017 Report Posted April 27, 2017 (edited) I got an email from vidangel. Something about a top secret product offering. You had to sign a confidentiality agreement. Took 15 minutes of clicking, here, clicking there. I did it as I thought, ' lds company, help them out.' Stupid marketing ploy. Jerks! Ignore. Way to alienate your customers! NeuroTypical Posted April 27, 2017 Report Posted April 27, 2017 I haven't experienced a hint of that from Vidangel. I bought some stock and get regular updates on the lawsuit, yearly director's meetings, messages from the CEO and the linke, but they aren't trying to sell me anything. Are you sure it was from Vidangel and not some data theft sting place dressed up to look like vidangel? Blackmarch and NeedleinA 2 Quote

eddified Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 @Sunday21 I got it, too. I can explain. VidAngel wants you to sign a Non-Disclosure agreement. If you sign it, you be entered into a pool of people from which will be selected <---- redacted ---->. I can't tell because I singed the NDA myself. Quote
eddified Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 It seemed pretty legit. Not a data theft sting. Nothing to be worried about. Sunday21 and NeuroTypical 2 Quote
eddified Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) NDA's are fairly common in business. But this may be the first time I was asked to sign one as a consumer. Edited April 28, 2017 by eddified Quote
Sunday21 Posted April 28, 2017 Author Report Posted April 28, 2017 @eddified. Thanks for responding! Boy I hope you are right! I am really careful about phishing. I gave them my email and signed the disclosure. I will google and see if I can find a mention. Quote
eddified Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) Phishers wouldn't ask you to sign an NDA. Edited April 28, 2017 by eddified Sunday21 1 Quote
Sunday21 Posted April 28, 2017 Author Report Posted April 28, 2017 Dear @eddified, That's what I thought. Oh boy, I hope you are right! Thanks for replying! Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 I like VidAngel and hope they win their court case; but signing an NDA for a new product line with a company whose core business model may well be illegal strikes me as being fraught with potential problems. Quote
Sunday21 Posted April 29, 2017 Author Report Posted April 29, 2017 I really miss Vidangel. I can't watch ...anything. Sigh. I will have to start buying Harry Potter movies. IT was great to be able to filter out objectionable content. SIgh. Quote
