Sunday21
Backlash against Christianity in China? http://www.businessinsider.com/chinese-authorities-demolish-christian-mega-church-in-crackdown-2018-1 We baptise a lot of university students who then return to China. I hope that they are treated well when they return. In the past, they have told me that small gatherings of 25 people or less are permitted which suggests that Mega churches would be forgiven. Does anyone have info on the situation in China?

Though freedom of religion is allowed in Communist China, there are strict rules that govern a church. Golden Lampstand is, I think, the 3rd? church that got taken down the past few weeks. These churches do not comply with Chinese law (un-sanctioned by the government) and, if I take out the religious sensitivity, I can see how China has been very patient with them trying to control the church by things such as traffic violations for a decade instead of just smacking that non-sanctioned church down to the ground on day 1. After a decade of this and these churches continue to get big, China just cannot let it stand so they smacked it to the ground. The LDS Church will not have this problem because we don't make the habit of defying laws no matter how much we disagree with them. Many times I mean to say one thing and do not even notice that the autocorrect has made me say something entirely different. person0 and Sunday21
