anatess2 Posted May 15, 2018 Report Posted May 15, 2018 Sad day indeed. I used to daydream I was Lois Lane flying with Superman to the tune of Can You Read My Mind. I think I was 8 years old at the time... Quote
Still_Small_Voice Posted May 15, 2018 Author Report Posted May 15, 2018 I have empathy for Margot Kidder and the mental issues she had. I remember reading that she was homeless at one point because of all the issues associated with her mental problems. Hopefully she was ready to meet the LORD when she died. Quote

I think I was 8 years old at the time... I saw that movie at my cousin's birthday party. I remember his mother made two cakes - one for the guests that he had no control over, and a special one for him to control totally. I was eating cake listening to Lois think 'can you read my mind'. I began thinking a gross joke at my cousin, and when he looked at me, I knew he was testing the theory similarly at me. anatess2 and unixknight 2 Quote
unixknight Posted May 16, 2018 Report Posted May 16, 2018 I watched a really great analysis on why Superman The Movie was so good, and one of the points was Kidder's portrayal of Lois Lane... she had to walk the tightrope of being '70s cynical but still able to accept Superman's simple, open traditional attitude. If she had missed that mark, the audience wouldn'thave bought it either and the movie would have failed. She hit the mark perfectly. Quote
