Emmanuel Goldstein Posted September 24, 2018 Report Posted September 24, 2018 I have been feeling that this may happen world wide in our lifetimes. How would you handle it? JohnsonJones 1 Quote
MarginOfError Posted September 24, 2018 Report Posted September 24, 2018 I wouldn't be all that concerned about it, seeing as the specific case you site happened in 1989 and lasted for about 11 months. At the time, the Church counted roughly 9,000 members in Ghana. In 2014, it counted 60,000. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Church_of_Jesus_Christ_of_Latter-day_Saints_in_Ghana#History I don't see this happening in very many places in the world (excepting theocracies) wenglund and Anddenex 1 1 Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted September 24, 2018 Report Posted September 24, 2018 (edited) It seems to me that we’re pretty close to such a situation in Russia. Getting a temple dedicated there will be quite the accomplishment—at least, if it is given the fanfare and publicity the Church ordinarily gives to new temples. Guest Scott Posted September 24, 2018 Report Posted September 24, 2018 (edited) It has happened several times. Here are some of the countries we used to preach at, but which that have banned preaching by the LDS Church: Israel; Iran; Lebanon; Laos; Syria; and Vietnam Edited September 24, 2018 by Scott Quote
