pushka
i read a whole lot less threads here because most of them turn into one-line post-padding threadsI apologise Miztr...it's just sometimes we need a little fun around here, and we get carried away... Marsha
We just went thru a dealer to make a key for us. They had to have a copy of title or registration or insurance card to do this. Then they would make the key.

Sorry for all the inappropriates in this post!!!
miztrniceguy
apology not necessary...i don't own this board, i don't run this board,...i visit, read a lot of posts, make a few posts, and go on my way. i was only voicing my frustration, agreeing with a post by canuck. not saying anyone did anything wrong...just agreeing a lot of threads get derailed and turn into post-fests
a-train
If you think about it, a shady fella at your dealership could sell working keys and home addresses for cars coming through for service to car thieves. We had a local business busted in Lawrence, Kansas back in the 90's where folks could give a key to their car, their home address, and $100 to some guys at a car wash and they would steal their car so the owner could claim the insurance. It's the trouble with material possessions and another reason motorcycles are vastly superior to four wheeled petrol hogs. -a-train
Marsha
Same thing happens if you valet park. Or it COULD happen. The thief has your car, your keys, your address in the glove box. They also know that they usually have at least an hour before you get back to call for the car. Marsha
