Out of those 200,000 how many are active? Wow! Was anyone else surprised by this? I too was surprised by this so I had a closer look. This is from the church website: https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/facts-and-statistics/country/united-kingdom I was also surprised to note that in Australia with 155,000 members in a population of 25 million, we have a higher percentage of members than the UK with its population of 67 million. It’s surprising, that’s for sure. I think we tend to delude ourselves a bit when we only swim in one fishbowl. Quote
NeuroTypical Posted July 23, 2023 Report Posted July 23, 2023 Well, keep in mind that the great call to gather in Zion happened at a heyday of missionary work in the UK and Europe, and people got baptized and immigrated to Utah to answer the call. It's why I wasn't born on the Isle of Jersey - my ggg grandparents got dunked, hauled their feather bed across the ocean and the plains, and then almost starved the first winter in Tooele UT. It wasn’t a pejorative at all, just surprised at the numbers. NeuroTypical 1 Quote
