I was stunned by how few LDS are in the UK. Under 200,000? I thought that number was far higher. Out of those 200,000 how many are active? Wow!

Was anyone else surprised by this?

I too was surprised by this so I had a closer look. This is from the church website:

I was also surprised to note that in Australia with 155,000 members in a population of 25 million, we have a higher percentage of members than the UK with its population of 67 million.

It’s surprising, that’s for sure. I think we tend to delude ourselves a bit when we only swim in one fishbowl.

Well, keep in mind that the great call to gather in Zion happened at a heyday of missionary work in the UK and Europe, and people got baptized and immigrated to Utah to answer the call.    It's why I wasn't born on the Isle of Jersey - my ggg grandparents got dunked, hauled their feather bed across the ocean and the plains, and then almost starved the first winter in Tooele UT.

Agree. It wasn’t a pejorative at all, just surprised at the numbers.
