Gelboy14 Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 Just barely, my stake changed the whole schedule around and now priesthood, primary, relief society, etc. starts first and sacrament meeting is at the very end. Which do you like better? As for me, I like having sacrament meeting first and not last, but that's just me. Quote
LovingMummy Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 I have never had it that way. It has always been sacrament first, I was born in to the church, maybe it just a USA thing. Quote
Janell Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 That's how they did it when I was going to a singles ward. I don't like it because I think having sacrament first kinda sets the tone for the rest of the meetings. Quote
Stampede Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 either way for me. i know alot of wards do it that way and only because it fits the building usage. When i was in San diego, there would be 3 wards in the building pretty much at all times from 9 AM to 5 PM..... wards all using the stake center. It was a huge stake center too, it had a central courtyard they held some events in too. i think it was nearly 4 or 5 different wards? and the chapel was always in use... it was pretty wild. one was a Singles ward, a Laotian ward, and 2 or 3 normal wards. and the chapel was huge and it barely had an overflow, the cultural hall was on the west side of the courtyard and the chapel was on the north side. then they had hallways criss crossing on the opposite side of the building, there were i think 2 primary rooms.... MorningStar Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 First is best. The little kids have had it by the third hour and they're even louder when sacrament is last. Quote

Hey Stampede,What building in SD was that? I grew up there. Quote
Winnie G Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 I joind 1977 when the meetings were nuts through out the week, it was hard.I loved the change, kids have had it by the third hourI agree they barly make it through Sacrament meeting as it is. Quote
Canuck Mormon Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 I have had it both ways, and I must say that I prefer Sacrament Meeting first. That way I can leave earlier:p. I'm joking. If it was the other way, I'm not sure if I would make it to Preisthood, seeing as it would start at 8AM. When a ward I was in did start with Priesthood, Elder's Quorum was hardly attended, but everyone showed up for Sacrament. Quote
Maya Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 I have had it borth ways too and I miss the sacramentmeeting being first! I do not have small kids any more, but I remember how much easier it was for parents to have the Sacrament meeting first! Quote
Stampede Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Hey Stampede,What building in SD was that? I grew up there. Not sure but i was in San Diego's 4th Ward, i grew up in North Park near Balboa Park and El Cajun Blvd. Quote
siouxz72 Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 I've had church go both ways and I really do like Sacrament first... It really does set the tone for the rest of the meetings. I remember when I was a kid and primary was on Thursdays!! We'd have sacrament meeting...go home. come back for Sunday School. The block schedule is so much better no matter which way it goes! Quote
SmilingRedhead Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 I like sacrament meeting first. As Siouxz said, it sets the tone for the rest of the meetings. Quote
