Jonathon Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Greetings from Scottdale, Arizona!I am not LDS, but am friendly toward the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I would like to express my condolences to those of you who were impacted by the loss of your President and Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley. He certainly was a man committed to outstanding moral values and principles. I must also say that he was a man that brought a tremendous amount of goodwill to people of other faiths throughout our nation and world.I hope to participate in friendly conversation on this board. Though I am not LDS, if you read my own testimony (Grace Liberation), you will see that I am very well acquainted with your Church. To this day, I have several beloved friends that are LDS. Thanks, and God Bless! Jonathon Quote

SmilingRedhead Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Thank you Jonathon! Nice to meet you and welcome! Hope you'll love this site as much as I do. :) Quote
prisonchaplain Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 I enjoyed skimming through your blog, and hold the same appreciation for Ravi Zacharia's talk, given at the LDS Tabernacle. That so many LDS and evangelical leaders were in attendance, on the same platform, was a marvel to behold. And, of course, the presentation was powerful too. Welcome aboard, to the Board. :-) Quote
Jonathon Posted February 12, 2008 Author Report Posted February 12, 2008 Hi everyone. Thanks for the friendly welcome! I wouldn't expect anything less from an LDS-moderated forum. :) In fact, I had dinner with some LDS friends last evening, and left the evening so encouraged to be having a meal with such generous, warm-hearted, engaging people. PrisonChap - Thanks for checking out my blog. I have listened to Dr. Zacharias off and on for years, but just had the fortune a few weeks ago of listening to his sermon from a few years ago at the Mormon Tabernalce. It would be an understatement to say that it left me emotionally impacted. I was in tears, and grateful that President Hinckley gave the "go ahead" for such an historic event. Quote
Jonathon Posted February 12, 2008 Author Report Posted February 12, 2008 Thanks Dr. T. Love your Chesterton quote, by the way. Quote
cnnbotha Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Welcome Jonathon It is great to see a non-lds speak so highly of LDS. It surely shows that you are a respectable man. Great meeting you Naomi Quote
Jonathon Posted February 12, 2008 Author Report Posted February 12, 2008 Thanks cnnbotha! By the way, I went to your blog. Great article about womanhood! Keep up the great writing. :) Quote
Maya Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Everyone who is not against us is with us... with us to build a better tomorrow to everybody! It is good to have frends that are not LDS lifting their voices, so we too can see that not everybody who is not with us is against us! Quote
NeuroTypical Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Hi Jonathon, Welcome to the board! Ravi Zacharias rocks! I very much appreciate him and others like him, who have been showing Christians how to interact with Mormons in charitable ways. I often interact with non-LDS Christians. We take our kids to a homeschool co-op run by a Nazarene church. They are kind people, who seem to have concluded for the moment that having mormons in their midst does not put their kids in immediate danger of hellfire. And we don't have horns either. LM Quote
