Hypothetically, what if there was no Satan?

I think it would be difficult for us to recognise faith if we didn't have the opposition. Perhaps we would never develop an earthly relationship with our Heavenly Father.

You know when dealing with people, some have that dominating sort of personality? I think it's like that. They try to overwhelm our spirit with their own agenda.

But we don't know the exact process.

We have scriptural accounts of what's happened at certain times, though.

I don't think anything like that is happening. I used to think about it this way. When people say that Satan is putting evil thoughts in their head - I think how is he doing that exactly? If it was really happening, what would the process be? Does he think out a 5 second movie in his head, save it somehow knowing it is your exact weakness, take it out from just a thought and puts it in a case, then sends it to your brain?

I think everyone is unique and the thoughts that come to their head are not temptations sent from someone but just what they think about sometimes.

You seem to be looking at it from a purely physical, temporal stance, and there's the spiritual aspect.

And we know Satan has power, and that he can even perform miracles, based on Scripture.

This isn't really a topic on whether or not Satan has influence over us, and it's not something I even care to argue. I know he does, and I've personally felt his influence trying to affect me.

Here are but a few of the ways: We are a sum of our expierences good and evil. So if we listen to improper music, swear, watch pornography, partake in unholy activities such as orgies, read filthy literature. If we take drugs. Entertain evil thoughts. Feelings of guilt without repenting. Ignore or disobey the promptings of the spirit. By doing evil.

The spirit of God will not dwell in an unclean temple. Thus, the spirit will withdraw.

reading the bible 40 times I think you should have picked up how and why Satan tempts people.

To some, it is their minds being bombarded with the very thoughts and behaviour's they are trying hard to overcome, for others it is subtly distracting people by giving them ideas about unworthy goals to pursue. And to some, he appears, and tries to strike fear into their hearts to stop them moving in the direction that God wants them to.

Imagine someone who has been on the earth since the beginning, with a third of the host of heaven (cast down with him) working with him, and who has seen all the ages of Men, and knows the desires of a carnal heart and how to appeal to it.

The process of how it happens is irrelevant, It is like asking: what is the process for receiving a witness by the Holy Ghost? Does the Holy Ghost make a spiritual fire out of wood, and then place it in your chest?

Whether it is from him actually whispering to you (the human ear is quite limited as to pitch etc. there is a lot we can't hear). As much as your spirit influences your own body, IMO other spirits may also try to influence it (on a spiritual level) that we cannot detect in the physical. possibly like subliminal messaging may affect our brain without us realizing it is even happening.

There was a poster on the old LDS TALK who insisted I was an atheist priestess who would not touch a Roman Catholic cross or come near its holy water. She literally started a thread about me after some reading she had done. If I remember correctly, I was working with Satanic male priests to take over Christianity.

'Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds,' he answered.

'Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow.'

'Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles.'

'Keep them from spending time with their children.'

'As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!'

'Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice.'

'Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive.' To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly.'

'This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ.'

'Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers.'

'Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day.'

'Invade their driving moments with billboards.'

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there.

Having little time for their God or their families.

Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.

I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?

I really think she has a mental health issue. Many days she would write posts that were very lucid and interesting. Then other days she was just bizarre and made no sense. So please try not to get upset with her. Just laugh and then laugh some more. You can even do a honk laugh if you want.
