I thought carnack was a misspelling of Canuck. Thinking it was a bad Canadian joke, i was pointing out the best thing Canada has given us. Ice hockey:D

I'm with thejoker and wil227457. While at 8 you may know the difference between right and wrong but i think making an eternal commitment is a little out of your league for most at that age. Plus since baptism is a washing away of sins why the rush? You have been capable of sinning for 2 weeks, and get all sorts of people saying. "When are you going to get baptized, don't you want to be sinless?" Should have waited til 40:D

Well at least you gave us modern Ice hockey

That's my thought. Generally speaking and according to the family proclamation men are providers and women are comforters/ nurtures. If our nature is eternal i find it more likely (knowing moms) that she would put off the physical body for herself in order to provide comfort for her children during the hardest part of the plan rather then the opposite. Mothers are notorious for sacrificing their own desires to meet there childrens need. No reason to think that would stop.IMO That would also explain the unpardonable sin of denying the holy spirit. As a father i can "roll with the punches" from the kids, it's showing disrespect to mother that upsets me the most. I find to be the worse behavior they can do.

I'm with Jon Doe and Moksha. I think the problem with associating ones misfortunes to sin is that it leaves out a very important part of the equation. Free will. We so very often think the world revolves around us and attribute most things that affect us as personal while forgetting that not only ourselves but others have free will as well. It is easy to say I didn't get that job because i didn't pay tithing. It's personal and we have some control over it. It's harder to say, I didn't get the job because there were people more qualified. Nothing i could have done to control the situation. I don't know how "hands on" God could be without affecting free will but i don't think he would take away the agency of the hiring manager to "stick it to you"

Arlington allows all recognized symbols so there is no problem. Here they said no to the Buddhist while allowing the cross to stay. They are promoting one over the other. That is the problem United States Department of Veterans Affairs emblems for headstones and markers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia -
Vort is spot on. I actually wanted to start an advocacy group for thoughs of us who suffer from MPA (multiple partner attraction). As a "lampoon" but fear people will miss the joke and take it seriously.

Interesting . The Ether 3 physical body stands out. Looking for more specifics like that. Unique teachings that wouldn't exist without the BoM.

In Elders Hollands talk he was pretty adamant about the importance of the Book of Mormon. I can understand how faith in the book leads to faith in Joseph Smith leads to faith in the restoration etc. etc. It's been a while since i have read(get bogged down in 2nd Nephi) it so i'm trying to remember what extra does it teach that is not in the Bible? Most of the things (that i can think of) that set the Church apart from other Christian denominations come from Revelation,I.E. King Follett discourse, WoW etc. So aside from supporting the restoration what teachings are unique to the the Book of Mormon? looking for cliff notes:)

Cause and effect. I personally would have never thought once about reading the da vinci code until the Catholics condemned it. Then i had to see what the hubbub was all about. I bet these books will get more attention now then if they were to sit on the library shelf of a public school. Who doesn't like forbidden fruit?

the good thing is the older you get, the older "old" becomes. of course there might be some point where you accept that yes (insert age here) is old and you have hit it or surpassed it. Anyone hit that point yet?
