  1. Sweet sauce! Welcome! The Gospel is so wonderful. =)
  2. Could it properly be said that the fullness of God's love is conditional? (That each of us has a measure of His love.) It seems to me that we wouldn't have the capacity to accept/receive all His love unless we were as He is, exalted.
  3. I too believe it shouldn't have any bearing on salvation. However, I'm hesitant to say that there are not some who do hinge their beliefs on a global flood. People lose faith for lesser reasons. Its hard to believe sometimes, but always worth it to have faith in the Lamb.
  4. In my estimation, whether the flood is or isn't global my beliefs in Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father remain unchanged. Even so, I believe God could fully flood the earth. I'm not about to limit the extent of His power. Its not like I could, even if I wanted to.
  5. I bought a vial for myself before my ordination to remind myself of my goal.
  6. I don't often share personal things of this nature... but I'm glad my post lightened your load. To think my Savior knows my pains and bore this burden, too, is a great comfort to me.
  7. Sounds good to me!
  8. So, tomorrow I get a ventilator mounted on my wheelchair, as my breathing is very shallow due to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy weakening my lungs. My body's CO2 concentration is high due to this, as well. Some of you may relate a ventilator to a trach, as a majority of ventilators are always connected to the patient. In these cases, the ventilation is on timed intervals, breathing without patient initiation. However, I'll be using a ventilator with a mouthpiece, which only mechanically breathes for me when I seal my lips around the mouthpiece and initiate it. Does anyone on this forum have any experience with this equipment? Admittedly, I have mixed feelings about it and, while I know in my head that it'll help me, I am a bit sad about it. It means my disease is progressing. At the same time, because of this technology my mortal life will be prolonged. That is a great blessing. I won't overlook that. I'm happy, too, that Heavenly Father inspired people to make such technology and made it accessible to me. Bitter when seen with "natural" eyes, and sweet when gazed upon with eternal perspective. Naturally bitter, eternally sweet.
  9. Glad to have you here!
  10. Welcome, and have a great day!
  11. Ah, so I had that backwards... lol
  12. I'm pretty sure Hanukkah is the proper spelling and Chanukkah is romanized.
  13. True, Dravin! Hopefully, any of us who know of Jewish beliefs will give their input, also.
  14. Justice, after reading the posts here I'd say it likely was global. An Ensign article is reliable. I should have prayed about this, instead of theorizing. (And so I will.) I know I misunderstand/misinterpret some scriptures, but I'm always open to amending my thoughts when I am wrong.
  15. Great posts! My current ward has a very kind chorister, but she has the tendency to slow fast hymns down and make slow hymns almost funereal. Now Let Us Rejoice should not take more time than all seven verses of A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief. Perhaps, she knows more of reverence than I do, but I'm not sure on that.
  16. Good to have you aboard!
  17. Welcome! :)
  18. Jews are dear to my heart, and I'd relish the opportunity to witness a Judaic wedding. I don't know much at all about the ceremony, however. I'd appreciate if thekabalist would be willing to explain the ceremony, and the symbolism behind the outward observances. :) EDIT: Thanks to our mods for creating this forum!
  19. We were on the same wavelength there, anatess!
  20. Do you feel its your duty to tell people who believe differently than you that they are wrong in their own place of worship? If so, I'd disagree. If you do feel that way, my question is this:How would you feel if someone with different beliefs came to an LDS chapel wedding and started preaching or speaking out about LDS?
  21. See this thread I started on the gift of tongues, it might answer some of your questions. You'll find great responses by Vort, PrisonChaplain, and other steadfast members.
  22. Wonderful! I made the same decision 4 years and 9 months ago. I don't regret my decision. My life has become richer, fuller, and brighter with the Light of the Gospel who is Jesus Christ. The Church is His, and the Holy Ghost can tell you so, if it hasn't already. Welcome!
  23. Sorry... I really wasn't trying to stir the pot.
