  1. Okay, I have a few minutes to respond, so here goes: Did you read the blog? And did you actually open the .pdf labeled "Exhibit A"? It has a section for "NOT A CITIZEN". True, this could be legal emigrants, too. But it doesn't actually affect the reality of the 9.7 million # attached to it. They're NOT Americans. They DON'T deserve free health insurance. Health Care for them? Sure! But stick THEM with the bill when you're done, not ME. And Utah is such a BIG portion of the national population! How many congressional delegates are we up to? Oh, that's right: 3. That's like one neighborhood in NY. The fact that we have a disproportionately high # of young newlyweds here has VERY LITTLE impact on the national #'s. In fact, "Currently the average age at marriage in the US is 26.8 years for men, and 25.1 years for women." Those #'s put you're "average" 18-24 year old as a single. Many jobs have a 90 day wait for benefits. That's the system. Maybe that should be worked on. It sure as heck isn't grounds for dumping the existing industry on its butt. Don't like it? Don't change jobs, don't get fired, or purchase COBRA. I love math. You know why? Because there's a right answer every time! Let me step you through this crazy thing we call ALGEBRA:12,000,000 uninsured divided by 300,000,000 population (according to the document) = 4%. Cool how that works, eh? I checked it on multiple calculators to verify its authenticity. Sure thing.
  2. Awwww, shucks. I own an F350 because I carry 3,500# of chemical in the bed of my truck all the time and tow a trailer (and it can fit all 6 of my family for the odd occasion when the Suburban isn't an option). Even more importantly, I drive an F350 because I managed to find a construction company selling a one ton, crew cab, longbed truck with only 58k miles on it for $5,000 (that was like half price, for those of you who don't do trucks). THE PRICE WAS RIGHT, BABY!
  3. Um... I own an F350... what does that say about me?
  4. Thanks, I appreciate you pointing that out. I absolutely HATE spin. That being said, please don't point the finger at the right, as though the left doesn't do the EXACT same thing: READ HERE.
  5. I didn't miss the point. Rather, I was comforting you in your sorrows.
  6. Maybe if Congress has to personally fund things, they'll be a bit more scrupulous.
  7. At least you get 19! All my vehicles get about 2/3 of that!
  8. We'll all have first hand experience with that soon enough.
  9. There's no need for conspiracy theory. The root of the vast majority of these issues can be traced back to lobbyists. We fix THAT problem and we'll have fixed many of the others.
  10. I have a pretty good idea. I took German for 4 years... only I haven't touched it for over a decade.
  11. Don't you worry. Congress is working double-time to usher in the Millenium.
  12. I don't know where I fall on the financial spectrum (I have sufficient for my needs), but I actually PREFER clunkers. I hate not actually owning my cars. Been there, done that. Not interested in going there again. Debt is a millstone. I'd rather drive my 10+ year old vehicles and maintain them than ask some bank to buy me a nicer car than I actually need - with the promise that I'll pay them back over the next 5, 6, 7 years. But that's just me - and I know that's not a popular opinion. In fact, unless this last comment dissuades them, I expect that people will now defend why they have newer cars. (I'm not judging you.)
  13. Absolutely. And yet most people look at such a statement as being a goofy, kooky, unrealistic interpretation of the left's motives. People really need to wake up.
  14. HERE'S A VIDEO with a Latter-Day Saint (you might recognize him) and a Brit. Not EXACTLY Canadian, but Canada is part of the conversation - and we continuously lump our comparisons of the UK and Canada together.
  15. Then come on south to Zion! Things are great here in ye-olde-mormon-bubble. I think that's a bit altruistic. Personally, I suspect something just a bit more nefarious. Well, maybe instead of moving south you should consider heading North, eh? Nevermind. I don't know what I'm talking aboot.
  16. Wie gehts?!?!?! Wir haben ein gutes uhr! Um... ich habe keine ahnung was ich habe gesagt!
  17. Welcome! How's life in your neck of the woods? (Is that phrase even used in Australia?)
  18. Why is the government continuing to promote indebtedness? Especially on a product that loses 1/3 of it's value in the first moments you inhale the new car smell? Why am I paying for someone to have a new car? Why are these people borrowing money from THEMSELVES? This isn't any sort of sustainable growth. It'll land a few businesses a few bucks, and add another $4 billion to the deficit. Doesn't make ANY mathematical sense. As for the environment: I call B.S. on that angle. Who cares about saving the trees/whales/planet when we're unsure as to whether we can even save ourselves, our economy, our nation?
  19. If you were the only income in the home, no doubt you qualified for Medicaid. If there was another income, then the whole argument's out the window.
  20. That's not the point. The point is that certain prominent lefties claim 45 million AMERICANS are uninsured. What's AMAZING is that you think we should TOTALLY pay for the care of people who break our laws to come here. Surely you can't think that's feasible. Don't listen to that mongrel idiot. He's a simpleton. If you're clearing $50k a year then you can afford insurance (unless you have like a family of 10 or something). Make some lifestyle changes and screw the NEW car. Are you SERIOUS? He needs a NEW car before he needs health insurance? Nice priorities.
  21. No prob. I'm here to dispel untruths and digital halitosis.
  22. And here is a .PDF of the actual census data that shows the # of illegals, the age breakdowns, the income breakdowns, etc. QUIT DRINKING THE KOOLAID, MY FRIENDS!!!
