  1. So, I haven't been on the forums in a little while. I come back, to see there is a discussion about being liberal and LDS. Looks promising. :) In reality we're talking about......... intergalactic space reptiles??? Why does Nancy Pelosi always come up?
  2. I don't know if this has been confronted yet but I'm just going to address it. 1) That statement is nothing but judgement and is based on someones opinion who has never known or met the man. To his friends he was a wonderful person. 2) Yes he was. Addicted to pain killers as a result of a reported low pain tolerance several injuries he sustained in his career including 3rd degree burns and broken bones. Drug addiction is a flaw, but it didn't make him a bad person. It made him a person with weaknesses, like all of us. 3) Right. He did admit that. He never admitted touching them inappropraitely. 4) First off, you don't know anything about Michael Jacksons sexuality unless you've had a first hand experience, because he has never publicly confirmed anything close to a homosexual lifestyle. And in fact to this day his ex-wife Lisa Marie Presely believes that he truly loved her with all his heart. Secondly, what does being gay have to do with anything about pedophilia? 5) Yes he was accussed. And his accusser testified. An no one believed him. Read the jurors statements and testimony. He came off as enitrely unbelievable. 6) Sort of. They called one boy, who said Michael Jackson tickled him...wow. 7) Two did, and they were both fired at the same time years earlier for theft of property. 8) False. 9) And what decent human being would accept payment for their child being molested? Sounds more like a pimp than father. What sane person would pay off an accuser? Someone who had the money, and just wanted the stress and scandal to go away regardless of their validity.
  3. If you read any of the interviews with the jurors from the 2005 trial, they will all tell you that they found the accuser and his mother utterly unbelievable. In addition there was no physical evidence (DNA etc.) and no witnesses to the crime. In fact if you read the testimony some of it is down right ridiculous, including that Michael Jackson plotted to put the family in a hot air ballon and kidnap them. (because nothing would be a stealthier kidnapping than Michael Jackson in a hot air balloon.) On the other hand, the accusers attempted to previously sue other celebrities, the mother of the accuser was guilty of tax fraud, and the child himself was a 13 year old ROTC kid used to working out and physical training, (hardly defenseless). It wasn't a difficult trial. It wasn't even close to beyond a reasonable doubt. And as for the accusers motivation, if they had won the criminal trial, a civil case would have been like getting a wish granted from a Genie. They could've asked for and probably gotten anything they wanted.
  4. I've read the Bahagavad Gita and much of the Tao Te Ching. The BG was good, but not as great as so many had made it out to be, but thats just my thought. The Tao Te Ching is cryptic to me in many ways, but I thoroughly enjoyed it regardless.
  5. Where I live right now, it has been a model spring day. Green, vibrant, sunny, blu skies, and a perfect breeze.:)
  6. First off, I enjoyed the WHO pun. Quite clever indeed.:) Second off, health care may very well be better in these nations(short of a massive conspiracy including the forgery of a fantastic number of medical statistics in order to pressure the US into communism ) As a matter of fact, people do go to foreign nations for their health care benefits (to buy meds, have surgeries performed, etc.) They may not make those nations their residencies for any number of reasons (jobs, family, locational preference) but it is nowhere near unheard of for Americans to travel to other nations for medication and treatment.
  7. I sincerely doubt that all nations that have Universal Healthcare (among them Canada, France, Spain, Israel, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Germany, and others) are all satanically motivated. As a matter of fact, last time I checked, none of the above countries have fallen into a state of satanically influenced abject communism...but I can double check?
  8. Why I'll be darned, I was just about to bring up starting a universal sunlight blockage policy. (after my idea of government sponsored work camps to counter obesity in the U.S of course) Dripping sarcasm aside, you know what is truly sad, that despite being an advanced western nation, the WHO (World Health Organization) ranks the United States 37th in health care, right in front of Slovenia, and right behind other such advanced nations as Dominica and Costa Rica.
  9. Really? So you must be personally close to all major advocates and politicians supporting universal health care? Surely you are privy to their most personal thoughts on the subject to the degree where you can make the determination they don't really care about people, only controlling them? I'm assuming you are of course all of these things, because if you weren't, that would be a pretty big judgement for a Christian...
  10. The answer is yes, with the option of "facon" for any vegetarians.
  11. The problem is, people have the argument that health care decisions should be made by doctors and patients, not politicians. But reality is in the U.S right now, health care decisions are being made by insurance companies, not patients, not doctors, and not even politicians.
  12. Yes, his name is Dustin Lance Black. He was raised in a LDS and military setting, and if you saw his acceptance speech, claimed it was very trying for him being gay. But today he is more famous for his work on "Big Love" and of course "Milk."
  13. He was disliked and not taken seriously by Dan White because he was gay. Dan White never really treated him with respect or dignity because of his sexuality. So while it was a revenge killing, his sexuality made it that much easier to be sure. P.S I loved the movie too!:)
  14. Happy B-Day! :)
  15. Don't rent alot of movies anymore. (on a notso positive note) Don't pay a grotesque amount of mony for gas. (on a positive note)
  16. Not that I know the guy but... Ben Raines is so old, that when he was in school, he was the one Shakespeare plagiarized from!
  17. How irresponsible! Now, when there really is a zombie attack, no one will believe it. Boy who cried wolf anyone? :)
  18. To be fair, you'd be strapped to find anyone who would call The Brady Bunch an artistic masterpiece.
  19. Indeed, I agree. But with the exception of Spongebob Squarepants...leave him out of it.
  20. Anyone else a fan? I'm an actor so I have performed in and enjoy musical theatre productions, and even some movie productions. My favorite would be: -Sweeney Todd -The Producers -Jesus Christ Super Star -Seussical -Across the Universe Sincerely, mustang:cool:
  21. Thanks for everybody's help!:)
  22. I was reading the words of wisdom and I was wondering how closely certain aspects are followed. For example, I know that Mormons won't drink tea or coffee, drink alcohol, or use tobacco. Indeed all mormons I have ever known follow such commandments. However I read on and found: "Yea, flesh also of beasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used sparingly; And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be used, only in times of winter, or of cold, or famine." Now I haven't met any mormons who will decline a good summer bbq. So do Mormons really eat meat sparingly, or specifically only in the winter? Or is that seen as a "Well back in the day that was true, but now aday we don't really..." Oh, and I have no problem following the W.O.W btw, I don't drink, smoke, and can easily live without caffeine or meat. So it wouldn't be a deal breaker or anything like that. Thanks, Mustang :)
  23. I don't know if politics really affects charity. There are conservatives that are charitable and some that are stingy. Same with liberals, some may be charitable others not. Sure, but again, not everyone watches HBO while waiting for universal health care. Universal healthcare has been proven to work, as in Canada, France, Spain, UK, Germany, and others. Meanwhile the UN has ranked the United States health care system as the 22nd best in the world, right behind...ta da: Slovenia? Sure, and some people who work hard and struggle need a helping hand, especially when it begins to effect their life. Correct. But private hospitals do not. Often times private hospitals are the closest and county hospitals distant. There have been many cases where people injured, ill or dying have been turned away from private hospitals, rushed to county hospitals, and died before they could be helped. All schools provide text books, but the quality is the question. Many schools use old ragged textbooks that are outdated and hand-me-downs from wealthier school districts. Agreed. I totally agree. Laziness is not one of the reasons I gave for government support.
  24. Actually I neither quoted you or posted directly after you. I apologize if you felt singled out, it was not my intention.
  25. And maybe its time we began lending a helping hand to people who need it. Everyday unforseen medical emergencies land people in bankruptcy. Everyday people are born into poverty. Everyday people are turned away from hospitals because lack of insurance or money to pay for medical expenses. Everyday, a child goes to a school that can't afford decent text books, classrooms, and teachers, let alone the finer things like athletics and fine arts. Everyday someone on the street dies from a curable disease or condition. Not everyone is a selfish screw up who only wants government assistance to buy another Wild Turkey bottle. Not everyone deserves the tough love treatment, children come to mind.
