Has anyone developed a curriculum to teach common sense? Most overly educated people I have met have little of it. Well lots of uneducated people have even less. Until we have forever lasting tires and brakes there will be those jobs. Driving tractors and trucks too are jobs that need to be filled. Guess everyone can't work in an office in the technology field. Ben Raines

What no LOL button on this tread. Very funny PC. Your congregation getting out of jail. Ben Raines

PC, please help me to understand. You say that we will judge angels, for what? If after the resurrection and judgment all will be done what will we judge angels for? I have never heard this before. Ben Raines

If he asks "So tell me about the last time you did X? How was that? If he asks if you have done X after explaining that it is a violation of the Law of Chastity that is appropriate. If he asks for details of X I think it not. Ben Raines

Prison Chaplain. I thought I would just share some insights to our course of study as youth and then as adults. As LDS youth, those in high school, two years of the four in high school are dedicated to studying the Holy Bible. One year OT and next year NT. That is usually five days a week. On Sunday the Sunday School for these same youth is two years of additional study of OT and NT. As adults we study specifically the OT and NT in Sunday School two out of four years and then return to study it again. This on top of our own personal study of all we consider scripture. Just thought I would share how we study the Bible. It is not a secondary source to us but a companion source of scripture. Ben Raines

So where is the line between affection and arousal? Also what is defined as no sex? I have heard the quote "Oral is moral". I believe it is not but I have heard it a justification by youth. I feel that this might be better covered in Adult area but I think it is something that teens and young adults should consider. I feel that society has lowered the bar so much in this area that there is a lot of confusion among not only the youth but the parents of today's youth. Ben Raines

So based on a couple of posts then anything except for actual sex act is within the boundary of law of chastity? Ben Raines

Sorry Misshalfway. I didn't want you to feel picked on :) So many here have very tender feelings. Since I don't really know you I was trying for it not to be a personal attack. My error. :) Guess this is why I am not ever a favorite person of the week. LOL Ben Raines

Lets see if I understood the OP. Married a non member male, disappointed now that no Priesthood in the home. Seeing young, clean cut, worthy, young men as missionaries in her home and now wondering why her husband can't be like them. From the information in the OP maybe even an interest in the wholesomeness of the missionaries and from that wondering about her own marriage. Did I get it right? If so I think it is time to send some sister missionaries to teach at your house. Stop the comparing. One of the dangers of dating outside of one's faith is that you can not control who you fall in love with. That is what I always told my three daughters. Ben Raines

Not picking on anyone, please understand that. Notice how general the second post is. No sexual relations. How is that defined. Pam's response was nothing that causes sexual arousal among non marrieds. I think we used to call that petting. :) Kissing? Caressing? Touching? For non marrieds is it anything more than a goodnight kiss on the front porch? Back in high school I found some slow dancing to be rather stimulating. Ben Raines

It is homecoming for BYU and also the chance to take the lead in the MWC. Also bump TCU out of any thought of a BCS game. Should be an excellent game. BYU is hard to beat at home. Ben Raines

I want to be my children's best friend. Not me. I want to be their parent. I love Doctrine and Covenants 121 as a guide to good parenting. Ben Raines

I was reading another thread and it got me to thinking. So many state that they all know what living the Law of Chastity means. I believe that for every person there is a different interpretation of what Living the Law of Chastity means. Please share what your belief is regarding living the Law of Chastity for Singles and for Marrieds. Ben Raines

I did not read all the posts but let me share what I have experienced both as interviewer and interviewee. A convert of two years may not have a full understanding of what the Law of Chastity entails. If you have not heard it yet there are many misunderstandings about what is ok and what is not between two non married people. I have been asked questions as a youth about what I thought living the Law of Chastity meant and then had some other things added on by Bishop that I had not covered. I believe that it is too easy of a question to just ask, "Are you living the Law of Chastity?". Better question is "What do you understand the Law of Chastity to mean? If a very brief answer then ask them to further explain, as a Bishop teach, help them to understand it fully. Then ask "Are you living the Law of Chastity?". How can you answer yes or no to a law you do not fully understand? With morality being challenged every day and good kids failing to live the Law of Chastity I think there is a long way to go to instructing what is ok and what isn't and then making sure it is understood. Speaking of that Lumberjack breakfast I think Pam finished off my pancakes and toast for me. I did eat all the sausage, ham, bacon and eggs. Just kidding I ate all mine and watched pam turn down a box to take home all that she had left. :) Ben Raines

I too do not understand how anyone can believe that all they have to do is "believe" and they will be saved. What does "believe" entail? I believe with all my heart. Is that all I have to do? Do my actions demonstrate, manifest, show by belief? I think so. It was what Christ did that allows us salvation. It is what we do, believe, isn't believing an action? It is what we do to believe that allows us to receive that salvation. Ben Raines

Tarnished. It truly doesn't matter what the calories are that you eat as long as you eat less calories than you burn by way of normal living and exercise. If you exercise you can eat more than you can if you don't exercise. You could eat sticks of butter and lose weight but it would not be very healthy. A proper meal plan would include protein, carbohydrates and some fat, most fat will be in the other foods you eat. If you would like to check out a great plan that I have used for years, it is free, check out Body-for-LIFE Ben Raines PS: Pam can tell you that I am who I am in the picture. We met last week. Not a Wally Cox double. :)

I don't understand all the hoopla over it. It is not part of our Standard Works. I have often heard a scripture rephrased to make a point, make it more modern or understandable in our time. I know that the scriptures were not changed. I learned John 3:16 as a young Baptist boy. It reads the same in my LDS? scriptures today. Ben Raines

I try to always remind new missionaries that you are planting seeds. Don't expect to harvest everything you do in two or three weeks. Missionary work is planting seeds that may bear fruit at a later date. Do not become discouraged. Just remember that you are planting seeds that you may not see the harvest to until many years later or after this life. Ben Raines

Me? Wally Cox? LOL Ben Raines

Just remember this. If you are intimate with him you are also exposing yourself to every person that he has been with and every person that they have been with and on and on. If this happened to me I would insist on a one year no touch period and after that to be tested for no STD and then we can talk. 4 X how many other people and more and more. Ben Raines
